Help With a Stealth Box Design

So this is going to be my second grow. My first was using a 250wattHps in a diy plywood growbox. I got about a qp off of it. The buds were airy as fuck though. Good herb none the less. I had 4 large bagseed plants (two heavy indica two heavy sativa. I also had tree small plants of Seedman's Purple and Gold. Anyways in my current situation stealth and quantity are the major considerations.

I plan on growing in a premade stand alone wardrobe from Home de Pot. It measures 47 3/4 inches wide, about 20 inches deep, and 70 inches tall. At first I was thinking about running it as a split level with veg on the top or bottom and flowering vice versa. I was planning on using the straight cfls on both halves. Now the problem is that I'm worried about not getting enough bud. I mean If I end up running close to 400 in cfls might I just as well have run a 400 watt hid. I'm thinking CMH if HID comes into play here. So I could also run it split vertically and rock my 250 watter that I already have. I spoke to the vendor who I aquired my light from and he stocks hardware that I could use to convert the 250 to a 400er. Then I was thinking that maybe I could have several sections going at different intervals and run a perpetual set up. Then in the end, I would probably just ended up running more wattage to achieve similar results to the 400. So what should I do? I need to supply 3 heavy smokers, so the 400 watt almost seems mandatory.

I already have a 4 inch Vortex and a dimmer switch. Honestly I never ran odor control on my first setup. This time I was kind of thinking that this ozone generator might be more stealth-like in terms of sound. http://www.wormsway.com/detail.asp?sku=OG600 As far as sound goes, I live near the house's ac unit and I run an air purafier so I have a little covereage I just can't create any extrenous noise. Anyways any thoughts, tips or ideas would be appreciated.

perhaps you could buy two cabinets, one for flower, one for veg, use the 250w in the flower, cfls in the veg, and connect the two with ductin to ventilateboth with one inline fan.

If you are going to do dual chambers I would split them horizontally. That would allow for a height difference between your flower and veg/clone. Im only on my first grow though and I'm aiming for quality....I'm not really worrying about overall dried weight....Hope I might have helped....

I could run it split vertically and rock the 250 with the cfls in veg. It would be more of a two cab thing if I ran the 400. Then I would have to have something to keep my moms in. I'm currently tricking out a rubbermade veg chamber. I was thinking that I could run that as a secondary veg chamber. Have the moms in a main one and then use the rubbermade to veg clones and get them nice and big before flowering. So if I were running a 250 in half of it, the that would be about 80 watts psf. Would that help significantly with the density issues that I experienced my first grow with a 250?

sounds like it'll work, just might be a pain light sealing one half of the cabinet. I think the 250 will be plenty of light, you can also add some additional cfls in the flower room if you want to.

Then my next question would be: is it easier to get that gram per watt return with more light in a smaller space? My current grow is 10 Orient Express and 1 Nepalese Jam. I'm growing organic soiless using lst and another technique where I'm creating a larger root system by basically rooting the main stem (growing horizontally) so that each branch has its own supporting root system. Anyways If I could actually pull 250 every other month that would work. I just don't know how realalistic that is. My hesitation is based on that and the fact that it seems like I could have more versitility with a 400. Does anyone have experience with o3 for odor control?

I used to run a 400w CMH in that same home depot cabinet. I ran a 6" cool tube sealed with Co2. If you are going the cool tube route, you will need more than a 4" fan because I had to run the lights at night with the 6" vortec full power and 85F was the average temp. If you are going to exhaust the cab into the room the 4" might do it but then add a scrubber, and you will need the 6" again. I have used Ozone lots and like it better than a scrubber because it's consistent and it works very well. Problem is to run Ozone correctly, you have to exhaust outside your dwelling because at the levels that will kill the smell, it's harmful to your health. You can use it for garage grows but keep it away from the plants as it's harmful to them too. Bottom line is, if you aren't going to exhaust outside, forget about Ozone and use a scrubber.

I am in the early construction phase on a similar sized wardrobe also using a 400 watt CMH. However I plan on doing a 12/12 from seed grow so this makes the design a lot simpler. Good luck!!

Thanks man, I really appreciate you taking the time to post. I have an enclosed reflector. I have a Valueline 6 inch. So I can use that if I need to. When I ran the 6 before, I had it on a dimmer and it provided more cooling power than I needed. But then again that was with a 250. I do have a tank but it's empty and I don't have a device to monitor the ppm in real time. It ended up simply causing more trouble last time. So I was going to leave that out until I have enough money to get one. I really can't vent outside so I guess that's that. I've seen aa setup where the exhaust fan for the light is also attached to the scrubber so I guess I'll go that route. Man that sucks. I was really stoked on that little ozone generator. So even though that thing is rated at 10,000 sft and it would only be on for short bursts, it would still be that detrimental? I can't imagine it being any worse than living in LA or Salt Lake City...
