Hi , I have 15 girls that are 1 week old and i don't know why, but the stems are very long :nono: . I use a 400W hps; temperature is approximately 73°F and humidity is very low (30% :badday: ).What's the problem? I think it's the humidity but i would like more opinions.
I need to keep them for only one month because i want to put them outdoor...

Probably too late for this fix, but next time...use a Metal Halide. The HPS has more of a red spectrum and will encourage stretching. It could just be the strain. What is the strain? If it's mostly sativa, then there is your answer too. If they are flopping over, then you should support them. I use shishkabob skewers and fishing line. Or, take them and repot them, burying most of the stems. This will slow down the stretch, but will also stall their growth for a week or so. Good luck!

Oh yeah....and one more thing. If you are going to put them outdoors, you need to harden them off before doing so. A week before you get them outside, put them in diffused sunlight(like a window with curtains)for a few hours a day. Each day increase the time they are exposed a little. By the end of the week, they should be able to handle full exposure to straight on full sunlight.

Thanks for the reply:D! I know that hps is better for flowering but i had a problem with my fluorous :fsu: .
The strains are Hollands Hope, Dutch Dragon and Durban Poison...The strange thing is that Hollands Hope is the one that stretches the most :badday:

Generally speaking, the plants will stretch if they are receiving light from an HPS, if a night cycle is being used or due to the strain.

There's usually not much that can be done about it... the good news is if you're running a fan on them the stems will harden up and the ladies should be fine. I would also assume that once you put these youngen's outside you'll see some serious growth regardless of node spacing at this age.
