Help! New leaf w/ brownish tip! Droopy too

Hey guys. Hope you can help. Im gonna put up a pic when i have access to a camera.

i got 5 "little ones" about 15 days old. Started from seed. planted in party cups of promix/perlite (70/30)

Rubbermaid setup. 13"long 9"wide 14"tall. micro veg box.
x2 15w 6400k blue cfl's.

temps 72-80(max).. constant.

my little one that is farthest along in growth was also the first to begin to droop. I avoid overwatering, but my perkier plants have also began to follow.

What i am worried about is the brownish coloured tip on one of my new growing leaves. its just the tip thats brown, on one new leaf and i dont want problems to escalate.

im searching the forums for similar situations but my connection speed is slow, id appreciate anyone taking a stab at this.

Dude, I would use 1 plant per pot and not use a rubber maid, those are a disaster waiting to happen.

One thing is overwatering is going to run rampant in those, if you overfert you are going to have a hell of a time flushing it, all the plants compete for root space and food when they get big enough and one or more will eventually lose to the fastest growing plant.

I would remove them and put them in dixie cups. Did you add any lime to the mixture?
If not I can bet your pH is acidic, peat is acidic and needs to be counteracted with adding dolomite lime........

Sounds like one, they are in too big of a area for them, they need put in there own cups/pots to prevent further problems, not to mention you kerep them the way they are now they will die, you will need to get lime if you have not and add a little bit to the mixture.

if you take a piece of the mixture you have, water it and collect the run off and test the pH.....

Did you test it after you mixed it?

Do you know how to test for pH?
You need to get a pH pen, they are going to give the best results over anything else, pH strips is going to be ok if you have a budget.

Make sure you get ones that have a good range or it won't work, something with like 4 pH to 8 pH.

You want your mixture pH to range 5.5 to 6.3

whats up stich, thanks for showing up.
i apologize for not having a pic, cause those tell a thousand words.

my setup is a rubermaid box(red green setup)
i got 1 plant per party cup. in a promix/perlite medium.

i didnt have no problems with promix last season.
i bought the promix last spring, used half, sealed the bag and im using the rest now.
the promix already has perlite and lime mixed in. I added extra perlite to be safe

i havent checked the ph, but i will now.

Ahh good about the lime! first check the pH and we can go from there.
You growing out the same strain as you were last time around?

last time was bagseed, in promix. this time i got a breeder seed.

only one is really droopy. the brown/blackish tip got a tiny bit bigger in the past few hours. its only on one tip. newer growth looks fine,
the cup i planted in is fairly dry, roots look fine (i planted in a clear cup and cover with a darker cup)
im gonna get some ph test supply at the aquarium store tomorrow. So far no luck with getting hold of a camera, gonna try to borrow a cellcamera and upload.

hey stich, got an update with no pics yet.

still a little droopy today but not as bad.
checked pH and it is:
(1) tapwater 7.2(ish)
(2) diluted grow tea + epson salt 7.0
(3) runoff 7.0

lower leaves (just above cotylons) becoming lime green/yellowish. dark brown/black wisps of discolouration (similar in colour to a phosphorus defeciency).

newest growth looks fine. exept for one copperish/brown burnt tip. smaller leaves at the top are green but today one developed 2-3 copperish/brown spots on them .

from books, pics, and your guide to sick plants im disappointed i cant pinpoint the problem cause my other babies are fine. (and i wanna keep it like that)

i know it doesnt help that i dont have a pic, im still in the process of borrowing a camera from a trustworthy source.

i think your PH is high (should be 5.5 - 6.3) , maybe switch to using distilled water and 1/2 strength nute
