finally got my pH meter

finally got my pH meter

hello guys

i finally got my ph meter, suprisingly my old meter + my calculations were off only for a few deka points of pH(0.2-.5), anways what i noticed is a funny thing

i have a cloner that runs the same principles as my grow bucket, and i have a clone in there of BMR that's been vegging there for a long time, i haven't paied much attention to it , just poured a few Liters of water in every now and then.

pH 4.2
EC 1.95
water temp: 27-28°C(82.4°F) waaayy too high, but it always worked in ME cloner(if i rig the pump to a time switch(5 min on, 5 min off) water temps stay at room temps)

so you see it's funny to me that the plants in my grow place look like they do at conditions like this:

pH: 6.2(it raised from 5.7 to this over night)
EC: 1.44(raised from 1.37 over night)
Wtemps: 73,4 F - ~23°C(that's the best i can do for now)

i foliar treated them once with 1/2 solution of Cal-Mag(+ iron and N)
i've also been trying to lower the EC to the point where pH becomes stable, didn't work for now

is it possible that my new ferts 32-10-10 don't provide enough P and K at lower ECs? - remember, my cloner runs on EC 1.95 without nute burns

any clues, suggestions?

thank you!

Open your system and look inside for rot and algee, your plants dont seem to be takeing in nutes at all now.

doc: i did that, and my filter was clogged, i cleaned it yesterday and today the roots have no slime whatsoever
i bought some other nutes 10-20-30 + i added epsom salts(0,17 ml /L) i'm dropping the EC so i can add some fresh nutes later

i think i'm seeing some progress, will wait for a while since i don't need to veg more then a few days when it starts to grow

black: yeah i know, it's just funny that my clones grow very fine in that recepie

will report if there are some changes

thanks for the help!

Your roots have locked out all nutes and that is what caused the huge zinc def also. Hit them with some root stimulator too...

hey doc, do you know some easy to get root stimulants? i noticed some algea extracts on the commercial market but mostly not EC tested...others like rhizotonic and stuff is only available via shipping for me, not very conveniant

i don't want to say anything premature but i think things are moving forward, slowly though

good day to you!

i'm not getting too excited but mg and cal treatment was succesfull along with the new pH meter

check from yesterday
pH 5.7
EC 1.43

check from today
pH 3.9
EC 1.5

clearly there is too much nitric acid in there from all that pH- i added through the weeks, so my goal is now to reach the balance with adding only water untill the EC rising stops

here they are

new Mango clone doing fine..

you can see the tops turning dark green, Mg effect

the roots are slowly but shurely exploding

a lil bit of slime on the old roots, but getting better
hope we see more of this in the comming days

MINERAL POWER! :dueling:

p.s.
i sure do miss rhizotonic at times like this, saves me 14 days!

great news guys

great news guys

as i said things are moving now, plants are getting greener every day, the new clone grew for a few cms over night others are mostly getting greener and bigger in leaf mass

you can see the chlorophyle comming back into their leaves..

BMR#3.. this is the new mango clone..
more mango...

DATA:

pH dropped from 6.0 to 4.0 over night

EC raised from 1380 to 1430

new roots look something like this, 100% strong.. ..and white

added more water and a touch of ph+

i'll wait for a day or two to let them grow a little, then it's straight to 12/12 and bloom ferts, no messing around this time!

i think i can move this thread from nursery back to growing, thank you for all your help again!

You've got root rot now. Ph is suppose to slowly rise in a healthy system. I'd remove the brown and slimey roots before it infects the rest of the plants.

tokina: ty for the warning, but in my experience i never had problems with roots that weren't 100% white, as they slowly regenerated through time.....i did remove 3/4 of the old root mass, those roots you saw grew in between the "suffering"

i will remove them if they don't get better, but they are getting better for now, so let's wait...will add some cannazyme to help remove the waste from the roots

patience is just fine for me :)

thank you my friend!
