Couldn't read the first post or thread, just saw that it was you RR....
Sorry brother, may his passing be as easy as possible for you. Much love.....
What a kind thoughtful loving gesture u gave to ur dog by doing whats right by it. I commend u. I waited probably a week or 2 longer than my poor pup should have cause I didn't have the balls to do the right thing for my girl, and let her go and release her of her pain. Its never an easy choice, nor is there an absolute best time or true right answer.
so sorry for you bro, sooner than you'd think you'll only be remembering the good times and all the times she made you laugh, that sticks around forever.
if she liked chasing trespassers in life, than her slice of heaven might be when Jesus let's her chase a bunch of the guys that are suffering their stay in purgatory
I have many fur-kids playing/waiting for me at Rainbow Bridge...it is always hard. My advice is to channel that love to another fur-child as soon as you can. We learned years ago, never to have just one fur-kid...when one goes, it helps make the first few days without your love a bit more manageable/bearable/liveable.
Nothing can be more heartbreaking than coming home...and you see paw tracks everywhere--but no doggie. I promised wifey we will never have that feeling again.
My GSD is 130 pounder, will turn 14 this year....and is probably 100 years plus in dog years; I wish I will age as gracefully as he is when I hit 100. And yes, we have a new pup to take the spot that our sheltie had (rainbow bridge last year)--and he is making the old guy "young again".
Tears for your champ!
I'm sorry brother. My thoughts are with you. I have a 3yr old with the same brindle coat. Mastiffs are great dogs. On the upside you got quite a bit of time with yours(even though it was not long enough). What was her name?
Nothing but Good Vibes and Love from me and the dogs RR
