Best vibes sent! Makes me tear up every time I see one of the threads. I wish dogs could live longer.

I am deeply sorry for your loss.

What a kind thoughtful loving gesture u gave to ur dog by doing whats right by it. I commend u. I waited probably a week or 2 longer than my poor pup should have cause I didn't have the balls to do the right thing for my girl, and let her go and release her of her pain. Its never an easy choice, nor is there an absolute best time or true right answer.

Couldn't read the first post or thread, just saw that it was you RR....

Sorry brother, may his passing be as easy as possible for you. Much love.....

The first post isn't showing up for you? That's odd and I have no idea how to fix that.
Thanks buddy.

We did that with her sister a few years back. Waited a couple weeks longer than I should have. It was like one day she was fine the next the hips were going. She had arthritis in her hips and we were giving her the meds for it but it was not helping and worse than we thought. And it got worse quick so we knew it was time and not just the arthritis.
When we took her to the vet to be put down I swear she was looking at me like it's ok dad it's time let me go. Like she was relieved and at peace with it. She passed with her head on my lap and me balling like a baby. It's hard doing the right thing at times.
This was her sister(cousin really) Damn fine girl.

so sorry for you bro, sooner than you'd think you'll only be remembering the good times and all the times she made you laugh, that sticks around forever.

if she liked chasing trespassers in life, than her slice of heaven might be when Jesus let's her chase a bunch of the guys that are suffering their stay in purgatory :ying:

I have many fur-kids playing/waiting for me at Rainbow Bridge...it is always hard. My advice is to channel that love to another fur-child as soon as you can. We learned years ago, never to have just one fur-kid...when one goes, it helps make the first few days without your love a bit more manageable/bearable/liveable.

Nothing can be more heartbreaking than coming home...and you see paw tracks everywhere--but no doggie. I promised wifey we will never have that feeling again.

My GSD is 130 pounder, will turn 14 this year....and is probably 100 years plus in dog years; I wish I will age as gracefully as he is when I hit 100. And yes, we have a new pup to take the spot that our sheltie had (rainbow bridge last year)--and he is making the old guy "young again".

Tears for your champ!

I'm sorry brother. My thoughts are with you. I have a 3yr old with the same brindle coat. Mastiffs are great dogs. On the upside you got quite a bit of time with yours(even though it was not long enough). What was her name?

I've still got 4 more. 3 large breeds. 1 is a trained attack dog, 1 that hates anyone outside family and the farm animals, and 1 that's is just goofy.
Then there's a small bark at anything pain in my ass that is a living daily reminder that what I say doesn't mean shit. As if it ever did I guess.

Not posting either one of their names. Not common and too easy to track them and my identity through AKC.

Nothing but Good Vibes and Love from me and the dogs RR :angelshug:

thanks b00m

Sorry bud, sounded and looked like a great dog... my suggestion is once ur feeling better, to go and get a urself puppy, or better yet a rescue dog... or not, just read u have 4 other dogs. Sounds like there is still plenty of love in ur house...

Sorry to hear about your girl, putting a beloved one down is hard. It’s something they don’t tell you about in the puppy manual. I was with mine till the very end, I just felt it was proper to be with her…it was the right thing to do.

She’s in a better place even though that doesn’t make the loss any easier. Better to not have her suffer. Chin up and remember the good times you had together. I’m sure she appreciated the life you provided for her as much as the joy she provided to you.
