3 days later this method solved the issue. new growth has no splotchy marks soil is still a little wet but the plant is not really showing any signs of stress from the big watering. anyone know if there are still nutes left in the M G soil after the flush?

oh yes, those nutes are timed release and will get stronger every time you water...you cannot flush them out.
