Help me hit the 3 pound mark!

I had 34 OZ's off of 1 plant in a 27 gallon ghetto air pot last run. 69 days under 1200W's. I think if the plant had been in a bigger container the yield would have been alot better.

your joking right? how long did you veg? a year

im not sure if i can veg vert because of width issues in my veg room but i was thinking of putting the 600 watt at the bottom and the 1000 watt right above it, you think i could fit 12-16 plants around that? i could do a shelf style like yours?

picture.php

Something like that with two shelves would work great. If it were me I'd rotate the two bulbs but it probably doesn't matter too much. 6-8 per level. I used 8"x8" cinder blocks and 2x8's for my shelves.

If you want 2-3 pounds start with 2K in lights and it will be easyer.

This is good advice. I'm rocking 2k in that stadium, it wouldn't be hard to do something like that. Even if you only have the 1k and 600 you could rotate but I say get another 1000 watt if you can manage it.

what would i have to do to run 2k? as far as power goes, if i try to hook the 600 and 1000 on the same breaker it will pop,

From clone the plant spent about 4 weeks in a 2 gallon container, 9 weeks in a 5 gallon container and then 4 weeks in the 27 gallon. 3 of the branches were rooted in the ground.

wow 4 months, you could have done 2 grows in that amount of time

That's great start! Just right there you'll see your yield go up. each 1000w light uses about 9amps at 120v. switch to 240 and it cuts in half to 4.5 amps. 1 15/20 amp circuit per 1k at 120v. for 100 bucks plus cost of romex and circuit breaker you can buy a C.A.P. Master lighting controller or similar device and run it on a dedicated 240v circuit.

I can flower 30 plants under my 1kw hood in a 6x5 pattern. All I need is to average 1.6 oz's per plant to yield 3lbs. I can reach that weight with Sour Bubble, which is a rather low yielder.

Just got to start alot of plants from seed (about 70), or have some good mothers going.

Very true but I believe his goal was to use way less plants than 30 per light.

SOG's yield incredibly yes, but those kind of plant numbers are flatout undoable for some people.

Personally, if I'm gonna grow 30 plants.. They are gonna weigh more than 2zs a piece and yes, they will use much more power.

30 plants under a 1kw can be done easy with the right hood, and 2-3 lbs. per harvest can be done. Shorter plants inside, and larger plants around the perimeter catching all that light from the side. It helps to have the right plants.

man i wish i knew how to do the electrical, but i wouldnt even know where to start, i did have an idea of drilling a hole straight down into the garage, because my grow area sits right above the breaker panel in the garage. im just paranoid about fires

i wish i could do that many but trying to stay legal here

Well my advice was based on using the lights he has but thanks ;)

Bickeyb, I would say either one of those strains are golden for you man, if you want more of a bush go for the Sweetest Cindy if you want more top cola dominant go LUI13. Or do what I do and just get both it makes it way easier! Good taste in strains my friend. :canabis:

i agree. the 2 pound per light mark is a great goal to go for.
i was able to hit 2 pounds of g-13 off 1 light with 10 plants. in 3 gallons of soil with 4 week veg.
other strains didnt hit that. so the strain is very important to hit that number

there are a few dif ways to reach that goal... now 3 pounds. you must be veggging crazy and have vaulted ceilings. with super heavy yeilders or i dont see that happening.

either way i wish you the best and hope you reach atleast that 2 pound mark! good luck

thats the thing is i wont be able to put the plants into flower until, around the end of october so for another 40-45 days of veg, im hoping to a nice new years harvest,, it would really suck if it goes legal before then tho

should be realistic about what to harvest.
3 per 1k is IMPOSSIBLE with ur restrictions staying legal and lack of equipment and experience.
2 lbs is possible but u will need serious changes.
selfhemployed has basically laid out how to go vert for ya.
go to home depot and get a power for dummies book. read how simple it is to shut off the main panel and add a proper breaker. u may be able to simply beef up the existing breaker in the room from a 20 amp to a 30 amp. that will work fine for you. in the begining i used to use power from another room. 2 seperate timers for each ballast and an extension cord with a 15A fuse heavy guage wire. i just used my office outlet for the extension to the ballast. no more on in there than a pc or tv occassionally.
just remember to be realistic and u wont find urself disappointed in the end time and time again. 1 lb per bulb is no brainer. beating that takes some work dialing and tuning to suit ur environment and available equipment,
with all that said the only way ur gonna get 3 lb per light is like in an omega garden or similar where 360 degrees x 4ft wide SOG is accomplished proper strain included.
all the best and keep on dreamin big, thats how u get there eventually!
Sir

a total of around 60-65 days i think, they should be big! feeding them with advanced sensi grow a and b

Sir

i dont think its impossible, the sugar loaf is a high yielder it looks like and the somangos look to be pretty decent to, they should be good for vert because of how many side branches they put off.
lack of equipment yes, experience no, been growing for about 4 or 5 years now, i know what im doing,
lack of experience in hydro yes, not soil or coco

here a pic of the hydro at 18 days, i had to change the res because i noticed slight nute burn and also need to add some calmag, hoping this bucket will yield nicely for me
plant are just under 4 feet tall with 1 week veg, they are also some 3 foot long side branches

Im sitting here and work and viewing your thread i gotta log in and reply to help ya out :)

looks great m8, but i do agree with sir and shelf

You can hit 2lb per light if you do vertical and have enough experiences

You can hit 3lb per light in only vertical with very very good experiences

1lb per light is a no brainer, i know people that been growing for 20 + years and they always tell me they're still learning, arent we all ??? ;)

here is my old run
2k light
8x8 tent
20 5 gal lowes bucket
all perlite
Ac probably run a few days out of the whole run
Temp stay at 78 - 82
One 500 cfm fan and a scrubber
a few smaller fans

I made a mistake by running a strain i never ran before, didnt know how its going to yield and hold up with the nutes, the harvest turn out fine but i would've gotten a lot more if i ran a strain that i knew.

day one

before the flip

these gals filled up a 15x15 space laying flat on floor, but when put in 8x8 vetical i still have room to walk and water

I consider this run is an okay run but still yield nice, if i dial it in right im sure i could get 5 lb or more with just 2 lights and 6 if i have the right strains.

You should use your 1k and 600 to use as vertical
with 1600 watts bare bulb, and if you use the right medium and strain, 3 lbs is easy.

good luck!
cheers,
red.

thanks for the info red! hoping for a good run

here my hydro plants, (ill do a complete plant update ina couple days just been lazy)
do other people plants get this big with one week veg? i dont get it, they are out growing my room i can keep putting the other plants higher.
does it matter if the top of the plant is above the light?
does it still get good light up therE?
i keep moving the light up to keep up with the hydro, they werent supposed to be this big!

Maybe you could tie the hydro ones down a bit. Then you wouldn't have to move the light up and out of ideal range for the other, shorter ones. Peace..
