criddopher: What are you adjusting the pH of your waterings/feedings to?

This thread has made it pretty far without this being asked, but it may actually lay at the heart of the problem.

Yellowing in early flower is often caused by a buildup of nutes in the soil, this is common as shit in soilless mediums.

What happens is basically built up salts throw the pH off during Veg, however the grower doesn't notice until early flower, when the plant goes through changes and needs to start pulling more of nutrients that are now out of range due to the pH. (usually MG, but running to the leaf chart doesn't matter since its the pH needing fixing)

Using an off the rack nutrient along with control over the pH going in to the soil along with keeping an eye on run-off pH you can completely avoid any deficiency/lockout/yellowing

Also, when i designed this room (my first vert) I had intended to run coco (another first) after the first run I had so many problems (deficiencies, salt buldup,) that i went back to soil, its what ive always done.

So my next water is likely tonight, I will use ro water, ph it of course, I will add some protekt(silica) some cal mag, and so far the consensus is feed them, so I will go light with some maxibloom. I think i'll go only to like 5-600ppm and see how they react. too low? too high?

Hey brother sorry to hear you had issues with coco. I hope you decide to give another try man it's soooo simple. Likely cause for your issues with it are ph related and very very easily fixed.

I'm gonna lay out my procedure to get the ph of coco in check and then it's cake from there.

1- I use cocotek (start with either 1 small brick or equiv piece of large brick, till you get the hang of it)
2- Put pillow case, or large micron (150 or higher) bubble bag to use as a strainer, into/over a 5 gal bucket
3- put coco in and add water filled almost to the top
4- let sit a few mins and then pull out bag and dump out water
5- put bag back in and refill with water
6- slowly add grow nutes and stir. ( Add a little at a time and keep checking the ph until the ph is at 5.8 - 5.9)
- If you add too much nutes and your ph goes below 5.8 you can just add some Protekt silica to bring it back up.

Now you have ph'ed coco and should have no deficiencies whatsoever, so long as you ph your food before feeding.

I use Head's coco recipe, with Protekt silica. Could not be easier to use. Once a batch is mixed, the ph does not fluctuate for me.

I also add some perlite (30%) to my coco for better drainage. Or you can use the mixed brick coco.

It's worth another try. Your yields will double in coco.

veg lighting is crucial. i bet you will almost double your yields just by switching your veg lighting from fluoros to 400w mh. with a decent reflector one 400w mh light will light a 4x4 ft area. good luck.

Yeah the buds are harvest are pretty good, potency is up there, smell and taste great., they arent really fluffy (not rock hard either). But like i said im only getting like .20-.30 grams per watt. Id like to at least get up to .5

this one is lsd from a few harvests back in this room before i build the scrog

The image with the blistex is this dna afghan from last harvest. no scrog then either.

Ya, your buds look good. So you either need to take your plant # way up. ( you should check a BOG Sourbubble thread by The Phoenix, he's doing a super high plant count - dense Sea of Green.

Otherwise you need to grow bigger plants with double or triple the veg time your using now, i would also recommend looking into topping super-cropping and maybe the best for your grow; Lsting.

what kind of numbers are you wanting # or 2 or much more?

just saw your other post - your PH is a little high 6.0 - 6.3 is a good range
