Help designing cost effective sealed room

Everyone has great idea's, but I personaly like Bignuggets because it is most like my own and I know it works. Like he stated, using the central air will work if the cold input is not greater than the exhaust leaving the room through the scrubber. This should keep sufficient negative pressure in the room. It's realy a ballancing act to get it right. Pico also stated this will work if you are not using Co2 and I have read a lot from him in the past and he knows his stuff. So I would just scrap the idea of Co2 and use the central air (HVAC). Just my 2 cents, good luck and take some pic's when you get a chance. Sounds like a great room to be setting up.

Did you ever decide on how to cool your closet? I have a very similar situation that I am trying to trouble shoot now. How to cool a truly sealed room?

okay, provided that I have a model that has a recirculate feature on it, where does the heat get removed from? Is this AC a water cooled unit, or how does this work. I thought about the window AC mod using a Box and an exhaust, but I just have no way to vent. Any ideas?

Much thanks pico...but for 5 bills plus, I think I might just need to vent out the light socket in the ceiling of the closet and use either a portable air, or a window box unit with a box and exhaust tubes for it.

That may work wonders down the road, but I think I need to make do and watch carefully.

You say you have two openings from the livingroom , and a possible A/C vent in the closet?

You could use the openings from the livingroom for intake and exhaust , and use the A/C outlet for emergency cooling.

Just a use a extra thermostat in the closet , wich is set to a higher temperature than the rest of the house.

Now , the closet will be cooled at same time as the rest of the house, controlled by the main thermostat.

But the closet and the rest of the house will allso be cooled if the closet reaches the emergency temperature. (controlled by the extra thermostat in the closet)

This will work better than you think , since the need for cooling is at its greatest on hot days , when the A/C is running anyway.
The intake/exhaust must be able to cool the closet allone on cool days, without the A/C, or your house could get a bit cold.

You could allso develop this supernatural chilling sensation , when your girls are feeling hot. :)
