Just blow air through the hoods

The idea of the mini split is not to dump air outside

I debated going with a mini split, but for 2k I figured it would be more cost efficient to just go with a window banger.. For my grow, security did not allow me to hang my window out so i converted it into a portable that i could place into my room for about 30 bucks at home depot.. Just bought some Sheet metal and framed a box over the exhaust, than covered the side vents with aluminum sticky tape, and caulked some sheet metal over the top intake for my unit so it sucks fresh air from the outside and into my AC, all the hot air is expelled outside as well. I only had to run about 4 feet of ducting to get outside so i haven't even had to throw a inline booster to get the hot air out.. ill post some pics so you can get an idea.. basically can just craigslist a 8-10k BTU unit for cheap and than modify it.. Much cheaper than buying a portable that will break in a year or two.. The minisplit is a little over my head at the moment, but i've heard great things about them. Probably harder to run a minisplit if you're intent in a rental is to not do a ton of dmg.. food for thought.
