Greetings and welcome to ICMag forums!
If you must use soil from outside you should choose clean soil, and sterilize by baking in your oven.
Buying soil is preferred since sterilized and some add beneficial ingredients and/or time released nutrients. The best soils are mixed by the grower, adding what's needed for a full grow cycle.

The above posters are correct about the soil. I have had trouble with "damping Off" before when I used some soilless from the patio grow from the last year which sat around all year. The "damping off" is caused by various types of fungus which kill off the new seedling before it grows out of the soil (some times after it grows out of the soil). The easiest fix is to buy a bag of good potting soil.

Hello, i would like to know more about growing... not long ago i purchesed from seedsmafia a northenlight seed, i use the papertowels method to germinize and it worked but when i put it in the soil i waited and waited and nothing

Hey 50 welcome to Icmag!

You have come to the right place and i see that you are getting great advice.

Just as some say make sure your soil is not heavy (like a clay type of soil), the soil should be fluffy and do not pack and push your soil in pots rather fill it very gently so that the roots can develop easier and not be stressed by heavy soil. Do not water too often as well, as you could end up with root rot. Just stick your finger in soil and if the soil feels dry for like 5-7cm then you could water. Also try to water more on the extremities of the pot in seedling stage, that will force the plant to reach for water thus better root development. You could also from time to time supplement your young seedlings with Aloe vera tea or lentil sprout tea (it has auxins that act as natural growth hormone).
Well I hope this helps a bit and lots of great people here will help you whenever you need it.
Good luck and feel free to share pics whenever possible
