You might want to check that unit, I don't think it's an A/C.

You're absolutely correct, that unit is an evaporative cooler, or 'swamp' cooler, not an air conditioner. Here's the telltale phrase in the description:

This Air Cooler is an ALTERNATIVE to a Portable Air Conditioner. Just fill it with water and/or ice and turn it on.

I don't know if your going to touch one of those for under 300, I had to put a window unit in. 200 bucks. When this one goes out, i'm getting a smaller one.

Hmm... last summer I got 2 window units for $129.99 each at 8,000 BTU each (I think). I was still kind of pissed for spending that much.

Thats not too bad for an 8000 btu, i'm thinking my next ac is 8000 as well, more than enough for my room

My house isn't huge, so just those two make a huge difference in my entire house. I keep one in the living room that cools itself and the dining room, and then just one in my bedroom which helps cool the whole upstairs if the door is left open. The stairway stays hot as a mother fucker and the kitchen though. I need a better solution.

I did get a pretty good deal on them, they were marked down from $169.99 I believe. My girlfriend convinced me to pick them up because we were suffering teribbly at night. A good buy I suppose.

Just my CPU and TV, but the heat problems are over thanks to my air cooled hood!
