Not where I am, they don't....still use people. Can't really tell someone certain things aren't done if it varies from lacation to location ;)

I'd anonymously call the cops on a suspicious vehicle buying drugs in your neighborhood.

I'd just say the vehicle had two men and was suspicious. No need to bring drugs into the equation, although some other possible offense could be used if it sounded to minor for cops to investigate.

If the cops SHOULD investigate, I'd imagine you'd see the cops pulling up to the van sooner or later. How they communicate might give some idea what's up.

But cops might not go if they know there is surveillance there.

But I think making the anonymous call would make the cops suspicious about the caller. And HOW do you make an anonymous call anymore ? Cops can generally get your number no matter how you try to hide it. Only safe options I can see are a prepaid cell you then throw away, or using a phone booth and getting away before the cops can get to that phone. If they ARE watching you I think they'll know it was you making the call.

So yeah, going up to the van for a chat and trying to be like a cop sticking your nose in the window, is I think likely the best bet for gathering information. But if they are after you they might just decide to take you down then and there. There are all sorts of bogus charges they could come up with if you thwart surveillance on yourself by approaching them.

They are not counting cars dude, LMAO, they use air pressure hoses run across the road to count cars and test speeds. single hose across the road is counting, double hose is for speed.

Please see above quotes taken form DOT site pertaining to manual monitoring of intersections. Air boxes don't tell the type of traffic nor does it give any information as to the direction traveled (left, right, straight) after the air box.

I'd get a wristrocket slingshot, hide and peg that van a few times.

This is the worst suggestion I have seen. Worst than flushing your plants with bleach, or leaving more fan leaves on so that it will dry faster.

This is a government vehicle with two government workers and you are suggesting that I at the least I vandalize it while it is occupied, and depending on the responding officers, it could go as far as assault with a deadly weapon.

Bad Bad Bad -K Tre33

On the lighter side, Utility workers are out there today painting lines and walking around with one of those wheels that count off.

Take this experience as a an opportunity to learn an extremely important lesson.

You should have a set game plan for this kind of potential surveillance. That is, you're decision to cut or keep your grow should have been days ago. You never want to put yourself in a situation where your state of mind is clouded by fear or other emotions and have to rely on your confused mental state to make the most important decisions of your life.

Sit down and begin to make a decision set. Cut or move your grow? When? At the first sign of a potential stake out? 4 hours? After calling DOT, the police or whomever? Never?

Map out your strategies. Be ready not rattled. Prepare properly.

I get some real lols at the advice given in these threads ie: "walk up on them and they will pull out there badges quick" yeah because that's how undercover cops roll lol. I mean just look at it like this. What do you think they are doing? How could they benefit from just sitting there watching you? I mean do you have a lot of traffic coming in and out of your home? As long as you don't have 100 people(not really but you get the point) in and out of your home every day you will be fine on that aspect. I mean yeah they could be monitoring your phone calls but do you talk about your personal shit over the phone? If not no sweat there. And they only other thing that could benefit them by sitting there would be FLIR. And last time I checked they need a warrant for that and if they already have one of those you are fucked any way. Just keep your cool treat them like they are not really a threat and don't give them anything to use against you. Suspicious activity is a very big red flag for them so act like do don't even give a shit that they are even there. And if you still feel uncomfortable after you finish what ever you have going (this go around) cool off for a bit and put everything in the attic for a while until the smoke clears up if you are that worried about it. And if it makes you feel any better its not the 70's anymore and they don't have to put a "construction van" in front of your house to get dirt on you. Technology has come a long way dude! Best of luck kid.

We had a car on my block one day sitting at the end of are cul de sac looking suspicous with a guy in the car so my neighbor went up to the car asked the guy what he was doing not confortational or anything, Apparentlly it was a Private investigator conducting survalience on someone down the street. maybe a guy cheating on his wife or something...this was years ago btw.

Its not odd to ask someone why they are hanging outside your house.

"excuse me sir is their a reason why you parked out here for something" like was said earlier ask them prob just some workers looking to "skate"

There is nothing wrong with looking out for yourself and your neiborhood.......it could have been a pedo trying to reel in one of your kids with smartys on fishing line.

Jeez don't tear down and make sure you have as many plants as is currently prescribed for your condition.

Look out for CHEVY SUVs. they use rentals for under cover ops. Watch DEA. They will have a patrol car pull you over to make it look like a normal traffic stop then start asking questions before pulling you out and then taking your car apart looking for your stash while they wait for the dogs.

Avoid the Noid.

If they were conducting a Investagation then they wouldnt be sitting in a State vehicle and Yes I have seen people sitting at Intersections with clickers in hand counting cars and writing car counts on the hour. They do this to know when the traffic changes from one dirrection for light timming (mornings and afternoon rushhours)Just an Idea
Take care and be safe

Hm. not as bad as my area this summer. Daily high frequency low-flying helicopter patrols by the sheriff in addition to some dark un-marked ones. One day they kept circling around my block for 15min. Another day they moved a little ways down.

When I say low-flying, I do mean low. Could just barely make out the pilot. In the past, we've had some huge busts in the area. Guess they hope to get lucky again.

Doubtful. They use an automated system for doing this.

Not true. Not trying to be rude, but that isn't always the case... Sometimes they do monitor traffic before putting a strip down to gather long term data. My bro works for DOT

Just to let you all know, I have a new stop light at my corner. There was no raid, the stuff was dried and sold. Doing it again.
