i actually agree with you there. no one should have to wear one, nor a motorcycle helmet either. just out of curiosity though, can you name a driver that has died while using all of the safety gear you named ? i know that there were no driver deaths in NASCAR for 10 years after the HANS device became mandatory in that series...
