will mollasses cure an iron def

I think it is going to take a hell of a lot of molasses to reverse an iron deficit. My bottle says that it contains 20% of the RDA for iron per tbspn, so if you assume that RDA is for women, it will contain 3.6mg of iron (18mg is the RDA for adult women). If you use 1 tbspn/gallon, that will cut it by 256:1. I think that molasses is better suited to feeding the micro herd rather than for correction of a deficit.

I found the below information in Cannabis Plant and Pest Problem Solver - Pictorial -

"Solution to fixing a Iron deficiency
Any Chemical/Organic nutrients that have potassium in them will fix a Iron deficiency. (Only mixing at ½ strength when using chemical nutrients, or it will cause nutrient burn!) Foliar feed with chemical fertilizer containing Fe or rusty water can work well. Other supplements that have Iron in them are: Iron chelates, Ferric oxide, Ferrous oxide, Ferrous sulfate, all of these are fast absorption. Greensand, Cottonseed Meal is slow absorption, Garden Manure, which is medium absorption. Manure is most common organic iron source to use.

Now if you added to much chemical nutrients and or organics,( which is hard to burn your plants when using organics) You need to Flush the soil with plain water. You need to use 2 times as much water as the size of the pot, for example: If you have a 5 gallon pot and need to flush it, you need to use 10 gallons of water to rinse out the soil good enough to get rid of excessive nutrients."

I seem to recall that burying a few nails in your media (uncoated and not galvanized - plain steel nails) will also help.

Hope this helps!

You've probably already got enough iron, especially if you're using decent base nutes. For example, GH Flora series (chem nutes) only has about one-tenth of 1% Fe.

Have you checked your runoff pH? You should be in or around 6.3 to 6.5 for Fe absorption in potting soil.

Can you post a pic?

you could try a strong does of fulvic acids ..... from what i have read the fulvics chelate the metal elements better than any thing else out there.

Foliar spray of a chelated iron source will help immediately, I've done sprays well past 30 days in flowering w/o issue, unless you have some miracle 45 day plant you should be fine. That being said they'll only work very short term. Your real solution is to figure out what's wrong with your mix/nutrients/etc.

What's your soil mix? Do you add amendments?
How big are the pots, how long have the plants been in them?
Are the pots on a very cold concrete slab or anything similar?
Any idea of your pH?
What nutrients and supplements have you been using, how often and in what concentration?
How much runoff do you get each watering?
What temps are you running at night/day?

Just top dress with a generous layer of earthworm castings and water. It should get better in days.
