Has the quality of Sensi and Soma seeds declined recently?

Nice Post Rosy Cheeks, your last paragraph sums it up. Is it illegal? I thought sensi seeds was on the stock exchange. It would create an element of trust if there was a date stamp, but whats to stop them putting old seed in new packs. It must be tempting to clear some old stock if they have a run & start running low.
I suppose the ideal is to get some good strains going, & grow for seed, thats what I shall be doing this year methinks. Sorry to have a moan, I wont be doing that next year.

I remember a recent thread where there were mixed opinions about Somas work.. Apparently more than 1 person had germ rate issues... But others chimed in with 100% germ rates for the same strain... Could be user error, or maybe improper storage at the vendors.. He is genuinely about getting quality seeds out to the grower though, from what i gathered. Seeds aside, Soma is a class act compared to some of the "breeders" around.. In that thread he offers to replace like 6 or 7 packs no questions asked... He was even persistant about replacing seeds for a guy who was flaming him..

I am unfamiliar with the quality of Somas work in the past so I cant chime in ... but his recent work isnt shabby at all. NYC Diesel is some damn fine smoke... It's got an exquisite taste after a good cure, and an exceptional out-of-reality buzz with remarkable high duration. Surprised more people aren't growing it. Rockbud is pretty damn good too, shame I only got a couple grams of it. Evenf the quality of his product has slipped, he is still a better breeder and business man than many I've seen... seems like one of the few actually in it for the love of the plant and getting quality smoke out to those in need.

Don't know much about Sensi... Other than that my Sensi Hashplant was just average. Damn im tired, hope this post makes sense..nighty night icmaggers. Kind regards, CVS

right thought id better add this,last thursday i started to germ around 28 beans and 6 of them were my 3+ year old sensi seed nl.like i mentioned earlier on my first attempt all 4 beans germed on my second attempt around a year later none of them germed.so now im another year down the line and after 4 days 5 of the sensi nl have popped.

out of the 28 i started to germ 22 have popped so far,the ones that havent popped are 1 sol blockhead(4 ot of 5),1 sensi nl(5 out of 6) and 4 critical mass(0 out of 4).

im a little worried on the cm as i only bought those around 4 weeks ago and also got a pack of med man and shark shock and after looking around seems people have been having some germ issues with some mr nice strains.i know that these seeds must be fresh because when i first wanted to buy critical mass they were out of stock and there was a little wait while fresh seeds were being made.

Light haze #5,from SENSI SEEDS,along with alien og,from cali connection,,,100% Germanation ratio,every one germanated in 3 days no problems,i was kind of panicking until thay hatched i wont lie,crap,200,bucks for 7 seeds,,it was the first craziest purchase i ever made and it all worked out....their looking great,,ill post some pics of all of them when ready...

Got the same results With Black Domina mine were all male 10 pack ,even looked for a good male to breed with bad results, Got a pack of subcools Vortex every seed I popped so far has been female and awesome phenos,serious seeds was great ,TH seeds great .DNA great,

As far as old SEEDS go.that's a crock of shit,,theirs bad SEEDS,, not old seeds,,I've had SEEDS.for over 3 years in my garage on top of my water HEATER,3 years..I planted 6 of them,,2 were male,the other 4 were female,i yielded 5 and a HALF pounds..off 4 plants,,not bad for being old dried out seeds.

I have had Hash Plant and Silver Haze from Sensi Seeds. The germ rates for both were good. The Hash Plant was very disappointing when finished. The Silver Haze was ok, but my Mr. Nice Super Silver Haze is in a different league. The Mr.Nice SSH is far superior. I did not keep either of the Sensi products in my mother collection. I have some Sensi Hindu Kush on the way. We'll see how that goes. As for Soma, the germ rate was very low at 10%. I was lucky to get a ruby red grapefruit/tangerine pheno female that I have kept for years. She is actually a nice plant otherwise I wouldn't have kept her. This is the only Soma product I have run. Just my personal experiences.

I' purchased 5 of SOMAS best female's.,thay ALL hatched.beutiful PLANTS, my SOGOUDA,NYCD,SOMARI,SOMANTRA.and AMNESIA HAZE,are all over 3 and a half feet tall.other than AMNESIA HAZE,that's 2 and a HALF feet,,3,months 6 days old,still have 3 months,to go,,,im using coco coir,guano,kelp,seaweed,worm castings,bone meal,fish fertilizer for that extra nitrogen,, next is BUD FACTOR X after I flush....OUTDOORS,it's going to be BETWEEN 92 and 110 degree s for the next 3 months ,CALI,,,I IT..

2 of my friends were sensi seeds consumers since very long time, and 10-15 years ago they still had very good strains, especialy their shiva. But more recently they grew their superskunk, Pure Power Plant and critical 2.0 (some are from white label but it's the same correct me if i'm wrong) and the only decent weed was the critical.
Germination rates for the 3 were not the problem, quality of the final products was...
The PPP really was the worst, low yields, and half of the phenos were very shitty for final product.
Super skunk is decent but you can find easily better somewhere else.

Agreed. Really liked their PPP, Sskunk and Critical back then. More recent of SOMA, liked the Somango and G-Hazes.

Sensi's Black Domina was always tops! Enjoyed their Ed's Super Bud.

Sometimes genetics are not watched, or interbreeding, causing less potency. Cannot say if or why quality is lacking- they seem to continue to be at the top of their game.

Success is very dependent on numerous factors, and not the seed genetics solely.

Also cannot vouch for potency/quality now as we choose a few photoperiod strains (BOG, Hybrids From Hell, Barney's); largely grow autoflowers and our own strains.

Damn i realize i was too stone when i wrote my post, critical 2.0 is a dinafem strain, not sensi seeds...so i have nothing good to say about sensi's strain ... sorry for that mistake man.

Worst germ rates I've had from any breeder, hands down is from soma seeds. On his website he even speaks of their shitty germ rates, and to contact them if you have problems with them.

From what I've heard is that when soma is contacted he usually ignores complaints, and blows people off. Way overpriced seeds to get such shitty germ rates. Too many other good companies selling far better genetics, for far less. He tries to play the whole peace, love, happiness, share healing properties of these plants hippy type while absolutely ass fucking his customers, and not even breeding the plants himself.

He's like a fucking franchise, others breed the seeds under his name, sell at hugely over inflated prices, he takes his cut, and his fake hippy persona is nothing more than part of a slick corporate marketing campaign.
