Harvesting

How many days into flowering (12/12) are they? I'm getting close to harvesting my first grow as well and have been asking the same questions and doing as much of my own research as I can. I found this really good article from Hightimes and I think it's the most informative (easy-read) article I've found yet.

http://www.hightimes.com/read/key-points-harvest-time

I hope it helps. Good luck with your harvest!!! Let us know how it turns out. Cheers!

To be honest I have not been keeping time tabs as much for this plant like I did with my 1st grow which was a disaster I though with this current grow I'd let the plant tell me when it's ready.

Thanks for that link it was a good informative easy read and doesn't expand too much on things.

This best advice I can give you is trichome examination daily with a jewelers loupe and generally looking at the condition of the plant. Does she look like she's finishing? Yellowing fan leaves, stopped drinking small subtle things like that.

I hope your grow goes well.

Meow.........

I have a subscription to HT and outside of all the fucking Advance Nutrient ads that annoy the fuck out of me there is some good info in there.....knowing this makes the mag possible.
If you are lucky to find Garden Culture I've found some really good (More in depth) info there too.......I was told it's a free 'industry' mag.

Some advice that's worked for me since seeing in use...use the tent for drying.....dark, well ventilated and no need to acquire anything else since you have it already. :joint:

Lol I've looked at a few different way to dry the buds and I did think of using my tent but I've another seed about to pop so the tent will be required.

I went for the box and pc fan method as I read it has good results I also added a fan controller so I can control the fan speed as I found full blast on 12v was too much.

They look great!

Thanks also it's nice to get positive feedback back after all these months of love and care.

dude, diggin your little drying box
adding the pc fan was brilliant!

/the cardboard actually helps absorb moisture and if needed you could even cut out a section or poke some holes and cover it with a dark piece of fabric ( like an old dark t-shirt) to increase air exchange

job well done, man!

//btw what is that a box of snacks?!? i would totally eat roast beef / pickled onion flavor chips all day
those things look grindin'

I failed to mention earlier how MacGyver of you it was also.

My only concern with cardboard vs tent would be the accelerated curing/drying and potential of the 'fresh hay' smell with the finished flower.

Haha thanks!! I thought about poking holes etc but in the end I sliced a thin oblong slot so the PC fan could pull through fresh air and exhaust is out of the fan and pot a dark pillow case over it and it works pretty well I guess as good as brown paper bags if not better.

Using the box and fan method the outside of the buds were dry to the touch in 5 days but the middle still nice and wet this was my signal to jar it all and wow today I burped the jar and the smell was incredible.

Haha the box of snacks is a bulk buy of English chrisps consisting of pickled onion, beef, spicy tomatoes, cheese and onion and ready salted flower corn/potatoe snacks for the kids and to feed my munchies lol.!

Sorry for the delay I had some life events.

Anyway yeah I'm trying to hold off smoking it untill curing has occured although have been smoking the semi cured B/C class buds and am pretty impressed with their effects not too much of a couch lock nor too much head high felt pretty balanced out effects now weather that willl repeat on the top A class colas I'm not sure but they smell dank!!

How can you guys over the pond not have pickled onion flavoured snacks? Damn.... I wish I could mail you a box of mixed British corn/potatoe snacks! Lol
