I'm with you on that one, voices of the gods. Price seems steep but I think the sound is worth it. Not to mention a trip to Europe if you want to pick one out yourself. Someday....

Hang/HAPI/UFO drums rock! Lots of my music-colleagues have expressed interest in them, but I don't know anyone that has one yet. I was blessed w/ an opportunity to test them at a Music Therapy Convention a few years back, and they're definitely as fun & cathartic as they look!
Because of the scales they are typically tuned to, these tonal drums are easy to pick-up. However, if you're not used to hand drumming, it may bother your hands after prolonged playing. In that case, simple switch to playing with rubber mallets.
