For me it's about the search for one strain, came from tri-city area northern san diego circa 1996. Kush/Chem/Diesel it doesnt fit any of the individual profiles, but has that certain 'dank' detergent smell that i'd kill to come across again. Nugs were similar in structure to very chunky bubba, trich coverage like blackberrykush, and pale green color of sour d, but a taste and smell all its own. I ran into an old friend recently who had smoked that herb and asked if ive ever come across anything like it since, i laughed, and said me and my brother always ask each other that question and the answer is always no...
I'd pay anything it took to have access to that herb today.

I love Indicas & Sativas equally, but I especially enjoy strains with hybrid potency - top & bottom.

1. Amnesia Haze (2005) - it was the second strain I tried in my Amsterdam vaca. First strain was an amazing ECSD. Anyway we stayed across the square from Bulldog Palace on Leidesplein and after smoking a 1g cone down in the coffeeshop I went upstairs to hang with my dad who was having some Heinekins.
Needless to say, I was tripping balls. It's the only strain I've ever had that has caused visuals and the 80s music they had playing sounded like the best music ever created. I had 10+ strains and 2 hashes(carmella cream and violator) on that trip and nothing to this day has gotten me that high.
I enjoy too many other strains to have a 2nd and 3rd fave.

"Purple Nice" is a strain my friend nick's friend has. I brought over a few strains I grew, and after smoking the Purple Nice, I felt abit childish and embarresed after smoking what he had.
It was awesome. I grow the Purps alot and would love to get a clone of Purple Nice. I would love to do a grow journal on her. The guy who has this strain loves his Bubba Kush too nick said. God I hope your him and PM me.
I'm growing out feminized Grandoggy Purps along side some regular BCBD Purps. Purple Nice would be a great adddition to my garden.

I had that experience once when we where in the woods around a campfire. This guy had a white van loaded with the best sound equipment ever.
Pink Floyd/Dark Side of the Moon was on and it sounded so great inside the van, I sat in there just numb from the music and trippin balls from this powerfull weed that honestly was waaaay to strong for me. I dont know what we smoked but Holy Cheet Mon!
I stayed in the van until I fell asleep while everyone partied and drank liquor. I couldnt imagine drinking while smoking that stuff.
The "best" bud I ever had yet all comes from the same country Colombia. Not the strongest but most certainly the best effect.

hey i ran a purple mr nice cut for a long time.. it was an amazing cut that turned dark purple every time but was different from the typical purple urkle hybrids and purps that go around.. it had a funkier smell and stronger high thats why i kept it and a close friend of mine only grew that cut for years. he got it up in arcata or eureka from a guy that had it a long time.. something tells me it originated in the bay area and then made it around humboldt. but this cut could be different from the bay are purple nice guy.
anyways after a long time i lost the cut and didnt care much that i lost it cuz it never fetched prices like the ogs and the purple craze really died down.. and i grew it so much i got overly used to it but now looking back i really wish i kept a cut around cuz it was very special.. and if i wanted to grow a purple that would definitely be my choice. i kind of wanna try to source that same cut again cuz it was awesome.

OG kush from 2004 when it started circulating a little more and pounds were about 5000. shit was 10 times better then the og of today.
super lemon haze - ive seen some average slh phenos but there was this one that was ridiculous.. best looking weed ever seen with a super high to go with it. i dont even like hazes like that usually.
gump - a super duper lemony pinesol strain that went around arizona back in the early 00's.. it was like an og kush but 100x more lemon to it.. first we called it lemonhead but the grower said it was called gump.. never heard of it since. but we preferrred it over the og kush and green crack of that time which was easily the best shit around without a doubt.
more recently the 91 pure kush's from mmrc are always my favorites. and ive had a yoda og that was far superior to anything around. and a strain i got from ken estes called bhudda bless. no idea what it was but it was a sativa with purple hues.. insane high.

I agree with that Mango Haze. Mr. Nice carries it and I bet its the best Mango hybrid ever.
I grew/smoked DelaHaze and found a Mango Haze leaning pheno that was great. The Lemon Skunk pheno sucked.
Ive always wanted to grow the Mango Haze after smelling and tasting this strain in its dirty form. I would love to try it in its pure form.

1. Commercial Pineapple Express bagseed.. the weed I had was CRAP compared to the plant from this seed. Smell and taste were the same (and very very good), distinctive pineapple with some funk in it I can't describe. Very good, and insane high.
2. Trainwreck, amazing taste, lemon, dead whale and gasoline DANK.
3. Blue Cheese the taste was amazing, the high was pure heavy hitting couchlock.

Well, I would have to say the Colombian Gold we got in the 70's, at number three, I got tons of that shit... In second would be the Panama Red my bud was selling, and first was a few ounces of Alcupoco Gold we got here and there...

This is tough question since I've had many truly uniquely tasting strains that I really miss, and which I will probably never smoke again. But some of my top favorites, true elites,
1. Mothership: what a unique flavor, never had anything that tasted or smelled anything like it before. almost has a hazey, fruity, powdery kind of flavor, really hard to desrcibe. The smell was sweet fruity baby powdery purp hazey, honestly I don't really know, but it had its own unique smell and I could pick it out immediately and its probably been over 7 years since I last had it.
2. Irie kush: not sure what the lineage is on this one, but it also goes by the name "irene kush" which is just people not knowing what irie is & hearing it incorrectly. It's definitely a kush, but also has a sour diesel vibe to it, both in appearance of the buds (light and dark green) , but also the smell and taste, taste definitely on the kush side of things. This may be the smoothest smoke I have ever had. Super flavorful, high calyx to leaf ratio, and super expanding on the lungs after you exhale a velvet cloud of pure flavor. Rumor has is this strain is hoarded by a family in the south east, I'm not really however as this is just talk.
3. roadkill skunk: so im not sure if what i had was the fruit of the exact cut labeled as road kill skunk, however, i am just basing this name off of the description i looked up by memory. basically, i had to include this in the list because I haven't had this in over 10 years, maybe longer, but it was a down and dirty, just absolutely stinky skunk that tasted fucking amazing. this probably isn't my 3rd favorite of all time, but just one I really miss.

For me....
Mecca - only saw it twice around 2001- I'd assume it was an indica, incredible flavor.Hard to describe. Kind of like the older style red haired spicy strains but it had a rush of flavor like a chem or diesel yet completely different. Never heard of anyone on the internets with this strain.
Trinity - Yes the real trinity and yes it was skunky. And no I can't get a clone. I know a lot of people are interested in this strain but all I can say is I haven't seen it for 10 years. I remember it being very leafy, non-compact, and light green. I would assume very sativa

Honorable mention -Blueberry, the various kushes, and super silver haze
