i have also noticed that after i added some playground sand from wally world that even the top section of my soil is still fairly moist i added it to prevent nats but seems like its doin 2 thing for me keepin those lil bastards out and keeping a lil extra moister in the pot as well.. im no guru by all means ill leave the sugestion on the table take it or leave it for what its worth..

forgot to add i didnt mix the sand in the soil just added it to the top of the soil as a sort of top dress or barrier so to say...
