halliburton moving to Dubai???

i was watching the news tonight (i know bullshit propoganda) but i saw something pretty interesting. Halliburton is now moving their central headquarters to Dubai. I just think its kind of wierd, they got most of the oil contracts, 10 billion dollars worth i believe. And now their moving to the middle east, guess America is tapped out for them. Just kinda made me wonder, i'd like to hear other peoples point of view on this.

They have a 20+ story indoor snowboarding center with real snow in the middle of the desert.

this asian chick at my old work said she used to live in Dubai and said it was super nice / everyone is rich there.

hard to believe a Saudi Arabia can be nice with the whole country being one big desert.

Dubai is a stoners nightmare.

Not just because of the hugely draconian drug laws, everything is so fucking fake and tacky - it lacks any sort of character because its all so new, and what was already there now feels like some sort of middle east themed theme park.

The wives of the oil rich walk their toy dogs down freshly paved streets speaking about how great it is not to have to buy fake tan anymore and the husbands toil in office blocks on how to rape the world for another few bucks so they can get their new Audi/BMW/Merc/Porsche/Ferrari and more Ralph Lauren polos.

Ok maybe im generalising but thats what I saw and thats how people seem to go when they move there. The weather is nice, the people suck and the business of the day is exploitation of people and resources. When the resources run out, they'll focus on the tourism side of things even more.

They gotta move where the money is and Dubai is about to explode in terms of money available. It's already wealthy but their leader is a clever man and a lot of big corps can see how they can make money from this.

I called it about 4 1/2 years ago.. I told a family member: "This looks like a good ol' fashion train robbery". "you have the proper timing on the train routes, to set up a diversion like a blowing up the tracks with TNT or something to that effect. "Take over the lead engine", cause the rest of the train follows the head uncontrollably. "hench men work over the citizens and loot the cargo for riches". Once all the riches are gathered, "they flee to a safe house, to count/divide the loot". "the executives kill the henchmen involved in the crime, and split the money between the executives". These Executives teach young other cowboys the same tricks of the trade, and collect a nice percentage of them cowboys loot. meanwhile "the executives are quick to make thier way to a Foreign land". The Cowboys do thier jobs, while the executives live it up on the Foreign resorts on the sweat of hard working people forced to pay for it unwillingly or unknowingly.
Well thats how my hillbilly mind see's that fuked up move..
