hair drug test

hey all,

so i'm going to be having to take a hair drug test for a really great job opportunity.

i made it through the background check (somehow) but in my written offer they also mentioned a hair drug test.

i've smoked every day for about ten years now.

i've googled aplenty and all i'm coming up with are the Jerry G and MaccuJo methods, which only seem to work when somebody has 90 days clean and only takes a hit off of a joint with friends every couple of months, which leads me to believe these methods don't actually work and these people are passing anyway.

i think the test will probably be in about 20-30 days.

the best idea i can think of is to cut my hair super short and shave my body hair and maybe they'll settle for a urine sample instead.

any ideas? would this work? anybody have experience passing a hair test?

not certain on a tried and true method, but i can tell you that if you cut alll your hair off, theyll figure you have something to hide and not hire you anyway. look up some of the hair washes, but that will not take care of it if they get a follicle to test.

Basically in my experience as a heavy smoker is that none of the methods work but I've never done the bleach and re-dye Jerry G method. I'm about 2.5 months clean and just took my first aptitude tests and it should be awhile before I get to schedule the hands on tests so by the time I receive a job offer I'll be good to go.

thanks for the input guys. Johnnybgood, i think they need an inch and a half, if i go in with a crew cut that doesn't look suspicious, it just looks like i keep my hair short. also i've seen dudes that shave their armpits and stuff that wear a lot of tank tops...maybe i can pull that off? i was kind of thinking about going in acting super gay and being fully shaved and if they say anything just respond with "my partner prefers me this way," which is something they probably wouldn't want to touch for fear of a lawsuit. NTM this would be the people at the lab, idk if the details get back to corporate. best case would be they settle for a urine test.

oh, and I DO have a valid medical marijuana card but this is for a corporation with global operations, so i'm guessing it doesn't count for anything, right?

Jerry G method is definitely an option but from the anecdotal evidence i've seen online it seems that these tricks only work for occasional smokers...today is like the seventh day in a row i've tried to stop (still haven't smoked yet), bed time is the hardest...i should probably just get it all out of the house because i just love it so much and it tastes so good and i have a few of my fav strains right now lol

or maybe i could claim i have alopecia? i have known a few people that have it and they have no hair anywhere--eyebrows come and go but other than that no hair anywhere.

Jerry G has posted some information somewhere about the amounts that levels where generally reduced by each bleach and redye. Sorry I don't have a link as it's been awhile since I was reading about it. (google Jerry G method and you'll find the thread he started)

From what I remember it was recommended for heavy long time smokers to bleach and redye three times as well as doing Mac treatments. Apparently that was the highest success rates.

I do not know if they work but I have seen shampoos that are supposed to beat hair tests...all of that shit is questionable at best though...short hair cut at the local barbershop will help.Just keep it for a few months before you let it grow back.Might go take your won tests with different methods before you take it for them. Otherwise, you need a reason to pass on the job until you get clean. Parent ill and you need to go stay with them, etc...

They can't refuse you employment solely because you have a mmj card, they will have to come up with some other excuse. Good luck with the hair test.

i'm going to try a method that was passed along to me by a member here on IC, which he asked me to keep to myself for the time being. I've also ordered a hair test kit for myself so i can see if it works. it is organic and less caustic than some of the other methods. if this fails, luckily my girlfriend is a hair stylist so i'll have her give me a perm and possibly bleach and redye, but she says i should do one or the other (perm or bleach), and that if i do both it is quite likely that my hair will fall out.

If you read through Jerry G's thread you'll find almost all hair stylists say that but I've read of people doing some real awful and harsh treatments to their hair and nobody has had their hair fall out yet. They do really mess up their hair though but drastic times call for drastic measures.

I can't imagine why someone wouldn't want to share a possible solution to passing a hair test but I sure hope it works for you.

Last time I tried the toxin wash and zydot shampoos and neither one worked for me. I spent a lot of money on products and self tests.

The AzMMA says that they can not discriminate against you if you test in a concentration that does not show impairment.
just sayin.
Of course I know they do not care about the law.

Totally understandable. I wasn't aiming that at you but at the one who wants to keep it secret. i'm sure they have their reason though and hopefully it works for you and some day it can be shared. My first thought was maybe they are trying to develop a new product. I can't say it hasn't crossed my mind.

Hey Eli - I know my previous posts have been of no help but good luck. I'll be keen to hear how you get on as this will likely be the test of the future. There is a company that has just found a far cheaper way of doing it (not much more expensive than urinalysis) which will make it much more common. It will be preferred as it detects long term drug history, not just recent usage.
