gypsy good or no good???

I germ in a sealed tuperware container with 3 tissues, folded in half with the seeds in the fold. I then soak the tissues with tap, pouring out the non-absorbed water. Place on monitor, or lately my veg room, and i have tails in 48 hours. Ive had a high success rate with hundreds of seeds this way.

Never had any problems...always 100% germ rate.
I am currently awaiting some seeds and have been waiting near 2 weeks (a tad longer than hoped but trying to be patient)....once all is here i will let ya know if standards are still as high as previously.
Peace

wet paper towel method is the easiest way for a newbie or an expert imo, just make sure you keep the paper towel moist and put it in a dark place, as long as you don't let the paper towel dry out you'll have them germinate forsure.

Practice on some bag seed until you get it down bro. Don't waste your bought seeds on learning a proper germing technique. I use the soak until they drop or earlier and wet paper towel method. Never let the seeds get to dry and some seeds need to be scarified or slightly scrapped before germing.

Better luck next time Bro.

I also use the paper towel in a sealed tupperware and get 95-100%,you gave them light during germination you definately dont want to do that. You want a dark warm place 85-90 degrees preferably and pitch black.Just fold a paper towel and cut it to fit into the tupperware.Get the paper towel wet and then tilt it so all the standing water is out, this is very important some folks just leave it too wet.I'll get the towl wet, tilt and drain, put the seeds in the moist folded paper towel, and with the tupperware tilted so standing water can spill out, take your fingertips and go around each seed building a little air pocket around each, all the while having the tupperware tilted so the standing water can escape.Pop the top on and put it in a warm dark place like an oven(off of course lol).Check in 24 hours and every 12 after that I get close to 100% that way each time.I hate to tell you this bro but Th seeds HOG was probably one of the worst strains for the money that I've run into, expensive and just average as hell not worth a damn really lol

Chiming in to say the beans I've gotten from gypsy have been top notch. Germ rates have been fine. I can't say this is rite but it works for me.
1 gal distilled water w/1 drop of superthrive-shake well, then fill a plastic cup about half way, drop your beans in, cover with hand and give a little shake, soak for 24+- hours. Next day some beans may be cracked, prob not stick them beans in premoistened jiffy peat pellets or bed of non-fertilized soil, use the water from the cup to water in your seeds, just a little water, not trying to drown them. PLace'em in a germ tray with a dome or a clear plastic cup makes a nice dome, put on a warm shelf and check'em tomorrow. Over the next 72 hours your beans will begin to stand up and say hi.
Good luck

You have not pissed anyone off and you are not a stupid newbie....
Just a peson trying to figure out what went wrong with your germination...I have ordered well over 100 packs from Gypsy and almost all had excellent germ rates. The majority having 100% germ rates..(a couple from older stock and lower rates were expected on these..)
You can also try soaking the seeds in distilled wayer for 24 hours before placing in paper towel or directly into your planting medium..This helps to soften the seed shell and allows the seedling to break free easily..
Take care and good luck with your next attempt...............CC

cheers for al the tips guys..i have made another order..nirvana strains this time..i figured why pay heaps for 1 strain, when ya can pay less for a handfull...i think i was just impatiant with the hog beans..i even sometimes pulled them out of the rockwool with tweazers to check there progress...(stupid hey..anyway, this time ill be way more prepared, got a warming tray and prop box...should be sweet...
thanx again fulla's..
cheers

You've gotten good advice from everyone here, just pick a method and go with it. Don't mess with the seeds unless you're planting them, the more you handle them the more chance you have of F'ing them up. I've gotten a few strains from Gypsy and they always arrived very fast and they all popped. I use a paper towel sealed in a ziplock baggie and I blow air in every 12 hrs or so. I've had 100% success with this method and I will never use another, It's simple and easy to see what's happening with the seeds without disturbing them too much. As soon as a seed cracks it gets planted in a peat pellet in a 20 oz plastic cup with a light unferted soil mix. I don't wait to see a tail coming out just that it has cracked. I personally believe the acidity of the peat helps with the male/female ratio. It could be dumb luck but since I started using the peat pellets I've had many more females than just soil alone
