gypsy is the only seed merchant i deal with, always the best service(plus a freebie) and i have never had germination problems....i have heard several stories of bad germ rates on certain strains and i would think it was just a fluke
if you dont have much experience germing seeds, my suggestion would be to practice on some cheap beans or bagseeds and then move on to more expensive genetics once you are more solid in your skills.

sorry to hear about your bad luck, but dont give up on gypsy..he's legit
give him a pm, maybe he'll make it up to ya in some way or cut ya a deal on your next order...good luck to you

Only germination problems I had were on freebies and they were free so one cant really complain about that. I also would like to know how you germed them. :chin:

Gypsy good...you, no so good...

Gypsy good...you, no so good...

100% germ here...2.5 years and counting. all from gypsy.

yea..exellent..its like i said..im 99% sure i killed em dudes...i just wannted to be sure b4 i reorderd from him..
i tried germimg them in tockwool..in a propgator tnk thing, but i didnt have bottom heat tray so i used a light bulb placed to heat the thing to 25 deg...i am thinking i did 1 of 2 possible things wrong..
1..i may have cooked them with the light bulb producing too much heat underneath..or
2..overwaterd the rockwool cubes...the instructions i followed said to soak the cubes and gently squeeze out the water untill all the exess was drained out...so i squeezed them till no water pooled out...but then after 5 days with nothing sprouting i soaked em again, and then again....so i reckon somewhere there i stuffed it...
dudes, please don't think i was layin shit on gypsy..99% of what ive heard is ++++...but i just wanted to make sure...im gunna order the same thing again, but this time ill do it a different way...just germ them in some cottion balls and then transplant to coco pucks...
again, i hope no-one takes my post as a bag on gypsey...im just a newbie, ..ive fukked up, but i must percaveer(bad spelling)....
is gypsy a member of this forum??

I would take a guess that you let the rockwool cubes get too dry. Once you have soaked a seed, letting it get dry again will prevent the seedling inside from being able to crack the shell surface. A bulb being used to heat the cube, will also dry it out. 5 days sounds like a long time for the cube to store enough water to keep the seed soaked sufficiently. Just a guess though. Good luck with your next order.

thanx guys..yes, but the instructions said not to rewet the cubes for 7 days.....think ill just use the rockwool for clones from now on...germ and grow the old fashioned way..
cheers again guys..

damn right straight in to soil ... always works and I germ several ways ... nearly 90% + overall germ rates ,...
if its done it naturally for thousands of years ... it should manage a couple more times lol

Peace

rockwools great for germing, soak it overnight in a light solution of LK then shake out excess water, put them on a seed try with a humidity dome and keep temps in a good range thats it.

-edit-
and yes gypsys good, never had a problem on multiple orders

I have ordered from Gypsy 5 times and always got my seeds quickly. I have only had a hard time germinating one pack (DJ's Blueberry). They were a little pale looking when I got them, so I was already nervous. Then a little over half germinated and I ended up with three females. Overall I am happy with the order still, I still got a keeper mother and I will be ordering thru Gypsy again. I don't know if these seeds were just old or what, but this was the only experience I've had with an order from Gypsy where I didn't get at least 90% germ rates.

I have ordered also recently and all of the beans cracked and are doing great. By far this is the best seed co around

Great new man but the title with all that has happened around the net lately caused me some concern. :yummy: This is his house we are just allowed to crash when we need to. Show us the love once they break ground!

I too had some problems with some high buck seeds ordered from Gypsy. 80 dollar Sensi Star from White Label seeds. 0 of 12 cracked. I germ in RO/DI water in a coffee cup,(Clean) and none popped. I've had great luck before but I'm kind of bummed on this pack.

Who has a fool-proof germing technique, I have another pack I'm ready to go with but I'm scared.

i always germ using the paper towel method...

i get 95% success rate with this...

though a lot of folk i know just stick their seeds straight into the soil and get great success....
