They are still taking 3% out, just like a business. I see, because I don't link to my bank acct.

Verify that email please before I hit send.

email address is correct I'll PM you again with the email address.

You need to select friends and family option to avoid paypal fees

So far Gry tells me at least one donation went through but another member had some problems

I'm going to stay in contact with Gry and update when we reach the $600 needed for the oxygen concentrator.

M

Mr D

I just was able to send money through paypal using the email address I supplied

I guess paypal has changed since I last used it because they did charge me a small fee

One more request. The unit is fairly heavy so if anyone knows Gry that lives in the area he may need help getting it in the house and setup. It's easy to setup and the company sends an owner manual. I can help talk someone through the setup process if need be.

Due to a backlog in orders It's going to take about 30 days to arrive from the time he orders. Hopefully he will be able to order later today.

Or even if he has a visiting Nurse or home health aide that comes in , if they give him a date of arrival he could coordinate their visit.Im sure they would help out.
Just spit balling , but in a worse case scenario.

No home health care in Gry's personal world. Those medical pros he was seeing in THEIR clinic, offered him an oxygen bottle months ago; never materialized. He's fairly socially isolated. Some of us, including Gry, were in 'social distancing mode' before it was a thing.. and that sometimes has its down-sides.

M

Mr D

A slightly confusing message from Gry but I believe we hit the goal. Anyone who sent money by mail I'm suggesting to Gry he applies it to the additional cost of a 5 year warranty which is an extra $100.

Gry states he has a sort of hand truck/cart that can load items from the ground level, and then be made to go through/over what is about a 3" rise at his threshold/doorway. Thus he thinks he can get the item into his home. He may or may not need the referenced assistance in assembly

M

Mr D

No assembly required. It's a matter of connecting a humidifier bottle (screws in) and connecting the tubing. Very simple stuff.

There are finger-tip-mounted (clip on) oxygen-level monitoring devices available at Amazon (Prime) ranging from $7 to $30 to $????.

Might be a good idea; would help to separate or define sources of malaise, etc.

They monitor pulse and oxygen levels in the blood.

We are kind of flying by the seat of our pants here since Gry has had so much problem getting help through the clinic. It's best if a doctor tells him the best oxygen levels to set the concentrator on. However at the lowest setting and by using an oxpulse meter which you mention he can find a safe level with close monitoring. Since it was already determined at the clinic that he is candidate for bottled oxygen the lowest setting should be absolutely safe.

It's really a shame that his doctor/clinic hasn't followed up with the promises bottled oxygen. I'm going to suggest he call the clinic and advise them he is going to get a concentrator so they can advise him of the proper setting for his condition. To much oxygen is bad.

Communication with the clinic(s) has been sparse, with a series of barriers. An automated system that has sometimes been problematic, sometimes less than interested persons in between patient and physician or nurses, and even before the COVID19 issues, a public health system that's overwhelmed.

Gry's responses to my encouragement re. contacting them has been less than optimistic, and sometimes a point of anger or piqued frustration. With cause.

OK got some great news Gry is in the process of ordering as I type. Thank everyone who helped reach the goal in such a short period of time.

Moose I'm pretty confident that with great caution and an oxpulse meter Gry can get much need relief without doing any harm. Also since it will take 30 days to reach him perhaps he can get through to the clinic in that time for simple recommendation from a doctor.

Thanks, and great news, indeed, D.

I wasn't as much worried about doing harm from elevated O2 levels (his lungs can only take so much in right now anyway, from what I understand), as I was thinking that there's a number of potential sources for his sense of well-being or malaise, and if the oxygen monitor is showing acceptable levels of O2 in his blood, then there's a second or third (or ???) potential source for the circumstance. Like running an engine diagnostic analyzer, to help determine why the miss is there.

M

Mr D

It's been ordered, fingers crossed it arrives in less than 30 days.

Moose my experience with supplemental oxygen, is that an Ox pulse meter is the main tool used measure blood oxygen levels by doctors. Gry can get an Ox pulse meter from amazon for about $50.
