Spent the past few days at Olive View hospital,
a WW I era TB center where the mother of Ronnie Reagan volunteered.
Lot of testing, and more scheduled.
The techs suggested 3 possibilities, none comforting.
Hope to speak with specialists next week.

This thread is the most amazing thing that I have ever experienced.
Was never my intent to do or ask for anything like it.
I was brought up with a very fixed sense of values that dictate a fair exchange take place.
My physical condition has changed very quickly, my ability to think clearly has also.
Would love to find out it is merely anxiety.
If that be the case, with help from this community,
I want to make a for real old school not for profit to get very
serious meds to those with serious needs at little or no cost.
Not the corporate version where some jack ass makes a bundle
but still gets to call it a not for profit.
All of which is putting the cart in front of the pony.
I need an understanding of my condition,
at that point, it may or may not make sense to
speak of things going forward.

Thank you so much.

Forgive me for taking so long to report back.
I would like to is to thank those who have chosen to participate here. You have done more for me than I can say when it comes to helping me push on.
Like many others I spent time over in SE Asia in my youth.
Have a history of misdiagnosed kidney cancer, that took my right kidney in 2002.
Was far more than blessed my cancer responded real well to cannabis extract.
Three years ago I had a Pitt Bull attack me.
A bright intern I spoke with suggested that may have knocked my immune system down, allowing the latent TB to activate, as well as the cancer .
TB and cancer in the lung.
Known to have a wonderfully synergistic effect upon each other.
My remaining kidney has a GFR of 38 which puts
me in stage 3b of CKD.
Am told that I will be given antibiotics for the TB first.
Should have heard from the health dept yesterday, called
them this morning. Am on the the list, they will be in
touch shortly.
Have an appointment to see my primary care Dr
on the 15th, who will set me up with an appointment
to see someone over the cancer, and a kidney specialist.
ER got a bag of ringers lactate in me, felt like a fountain of youth,
made me feel so much better.
Took away the dizziness, nausea and pain, and let me sleep
well and eat again- but most all, think clearly again.
The effects are wearing off pretty quickly.
Dehydration hits my ability to think clearly,
leaving me confused and fumbling .
I look at what has been done for me, I feel your love and care,
and it sends me reeling and spinning mentally.
The joy in being able to water plants, fill the bird
feeder and fuss over cats again. Thank and bless each of you,
gry

Post Script;
Hurts doing bong hits.

Use orally consumed extract for pain management,
and do bong hits of cannabis for breakthrough.
Have nice extract, which
I would like to be able to replace
the cannabis with to use for
breakthrough pain.
Have no experience consuming
by vaping or smoking extract.
Could use some guidance with
approaches and or gear.

Here's some info on cannabis treating TB:
How and Why Marijuana Can Be an Effective Treatment for Tuberculosis
In 1955, a Czechoslovakian tuberculosis nutrition study stated hemp seed cured tuberculosis.

After studying hemp seed for more than 30 years, researchers found a diet high in protein could treat TB successfully. Hemp seed has the edestin protein, which you can easily digest and is similar to human globulin, according to researchers. Therefore, researchers concluded hemp seed was the best protein to treat tuberculosis.

Another study in the 1960s found marijuana resin inhibited TB bacteria growth and other pathogens successfully. Researchers didn’t know much about cannabinoids back then, but they did find CBD’s antimicrobial characteristics to be a particularly helpful and effective medical marijuana for tuberculosis treatment.

The American Society of Pharmacognosy and the American Chemical Society conducted a study finding medical weed highly effective in fighting methicillin-resistant Staphylococcus aureus (MRSA) and other deadly treatment-resistant bacteria.

The study showed the five main cannabinoids in marijuana had potent antibacterial activity. These cannabinoids are:

Cannabidiol
Delta-9-tetrahydrocannabinol
Cannabigerol
Cannabinol
Cannabichromene
These cannabinoids were not only successful at combating MRSA and a range of other dangerous bacteria, but also the treatment-resistant Mycobacterium tuberculosis.

What Side Effects and Symptoms of Tuberculosis Can Medical Marijuana Treat?
Cannabis and tuberculosis treatment can be effective for a whole host of TB symptoms, including:

Fatigue
Chest pain or pain when coughing or breathing
Nausea from treatments
Stress
Depression
Unintentional weight loss
Loss of appetite
Feeling tired all the time
More people with TB are opting for medical cannabis for tuberculosis.

Best Strains of Marijuana to Use for Tuberculosis Symptoms and Their Side Effects
In different areas around the world, people have been using marijuana and tuberculosis treatments since historical times. These days, in many cultures, people consider cannabis folk medicine for treating tuberculosis and other disorders. Below are five marijuana strains for tuberculosis you can try to effectively relieve your TB symptoms.

Charlotte’s Web (Sativa): If you’re looking for a strain to treat your TB symptoms that doesn’t cause you to get high, Charlotte’s Web is it. It is incredibly high in CBD, and only contains 0.5 percent THC, sometimes less.

Strawberry Cough (Sativa): This strain is ideal for TB patients who want to relax their mind, but also treat their fatigue. It’s a beneficial daytime medication, as it provides you with the energy you need to fight your fatigue and get through your day. Patients have also used it to treat their:
Pain
Lack of appetite
Stress
Depression

ACDC (hybrid): ACDC has a 1-to-20 THC-to-CBD ratio, which offers potent healing properties, but no psychoactive effect. Doctors have been using it to treat conditions like multiple sclerosis and epilepsy, and it effectively addresses side effects of chemotherapy, pain, anxiety and more.

Girl Scout Cookies (hybrid): GSC gives a happy and euphoric high while offering TB patients relief from pain, stress, insomnia, lack of appetite and depression.

Blue Dream (hybrid): Blue Dream provides you with fast relief for many tuberculosis symptoms, such as stress, pain, nausea, depression and insomnia.
Best Methods of Marijuana Treatment for the Side Effects and Symptoms of Tuberculosis
Marijuana for tuberculosis treatment isn’t limited to smoking only. In fact, many fans of the herb incorporate cannabis into edibles like brownies, candies and cookies — an ingenious method, since cannabis produces the “munchies” and can help those struggling with weight loss and lack of appetite.

Some popular methods of taking marijuana include:

Tea

With this cannabis for tuberculosis treatment method, you steep weed buds, leaves and stems in boiling water for around 30 minutes to make tea.

Smoking

Despite some trials that claim smoking cannabis isn’t as unhealthy as cigarettes, most researchers say cannabis contains carcinogens and toxins that may increase your risk for cancer and respiratory diseases and damage your lungs. Because of this, you may wish to try the other, healthier methods of delivery.

Vaporizers

Vaporizers gently heat the cannabis at the low temperatures needed for releasing marijuana’s active medicinal elements. They have fewer damaging byproducts, making vaporizers the most recommended delivery method.

Tinctures and Tonics

Tonics and tinctures are liquid forms of medical pot you apply to your skin, add to food or consume orally by itself.

Edibles

Edibles produce a “body high” instead of the typical “head high.” Patients claim edibles produce a deeper or heavier feeling to tackle their chronic body pain. However, it can be easy to consume too much cannabis with this method if you’re not careful, since you can’t see the amount you’re taking. Edibles are also slower to kick in, which can trick you into thinking you need more to achieve the desired effects.

Many members here have been mind-blowingly generous. Seeing some open their lives, wallets, goods, pantries, to another in need, even as a by-stander, brings a bit of reversal to old-age cynicism.

Some asked a while ago about a gofundme page for Gry. Gry, over time, opened his mind to the thought, and may well need to proceed in that direction. To saddle those generous persons who've contributed heavy thus far, is not realistic in the long run, despite their gifts already being a force of amazement and humbleness to Gry and others. Watching others give in the ways they have, is one way of confronting my own selfishness sometimes.

But Gry is in a financial strata, whereat having his name associated with funds above a meager level, might cost him his life-blood. So he needs to contact an attorney he's previously used, and try to consult re. a Miller Trust, or similar. I don't want to belabor that issue, as it ventures further into personal turf than I should go. I've likely, numerous times over, already blown that barrier to shit..

That said, he's more able to identify when he's slipping past a point of immobility and loss of cognition, and may be headed back to the ER soon to get some more saline (or more beneficial variant) pumped into him.

For those who have similar, how ever distant, medical history, and have been down a road or 2 beyond Gry's past understanding, having shared that with him, he is WAY grateful for your insights, compassion, information, and more. There's little that tells the story/reality of a trail, like sitting & sharing with others who've walked it many times. Thank you.

Anyway, in finalizing another 'War & Peace'-like novella of a post, the gofundme is not dead, but rather still in R&D mode, for the sake of all involved. For those who offered to help with this recently, thank you, and I hope the offers of assistance are still open. We'll play it by ear.

Gry's been on and off the forums of late. mostly quite coherent, and knows when he's starting to slip re staying hydrated, and effects of that

The County Health Dept was/is under mandate to have seen him within 3 days of the initial report of a confirmed case of TB. He reportedly called them over the last week+ a couple times, and at one point a fairly rude and disinterested person, when he asked what she was going to do, told him she was going to "take the next call."

This morning, the County Health Dept told him they were cancelling his appt. with a Doc on July 15, due to his positive TB status. That hit him pretty hard. But they also told him that a person would be visiting him at home re. the TB; the visit that was supposed to have taken place about 2 weeks prior.

I was and am planning for another trip into the bush, and am preparing for that, so had contacted another forum member who has been willing in the past to put their former medical experience to work, and act as an emergency contact person for Gry, should something arise requiring such help.

That person was aware the County folks were visiting today, and was available to take part as an observer/advocate, over the telephone's speaker, should they have been needed. One of many persons who have gone above and beyond in Gry's circumstances.

The County Health person arrived a half-hour early today.

By the end of that meeting, Gry's appointment for July 15 with a Doctor had been re-scheduled in its original July 15 slot, a TB specialist is also now scheduled to see Gry this Thursday, July 11, and he's being connected to Meals on Wheels, and maybe other services that can help to make life a bit smoother. A relatively very positive experience with a bureaucracy that, up until today, had seemed quite futile.

This evening Gry set up an Amazon acct. while I was on the telephone with him, and is now able to take advantage of the Amazon gift card he received.

He feels more hopeful, has sufficient food on hand, is staying hydrated most of the time, still deals with pain and nausea, and is very grateful.

He still intends to reach out to those who helped him in various ways, and thank them individually, but again wishes to wait until he knows more about his conditions. He hopes that this will be OK with those persons who were so generous, as he doesn't want them to think he is not appreciative, but also doesn't want to address the whole ordeal until after he knows as much as he can know.

I offered to write this update for him, and he thought that would be a good idea. This week and next may reveal a better picture of what, exactly, he's contending with, aside from the TB, long-term cancer, kidney issues, etc.

And now my chores are calling... again.

Thanks to everyone, once again.
