Growing Up-Side-Down.. What do you think?

There are two forces at work here: phototropism and geotropism.

Yes, the plant will grow toward the light. This is an obvious statement. However, the plant will also grow against gravity, so while the source of light may force a plant to grow crooked, it still grows UP. No amount of light will overcome geotropism.

Cheers!

An interesting question is, do plants growing in zero-gravity (a space station) respond to geotropism?

Maybe NASA has the answer somewhere hmmmmm.......

so if what your saying is correct (growing against gravity) wouldnt an upside down plant be great in small spaces? it would stretch toward light but also against gravity???

The Omega system ROTATES, therefore making the gravitational effect even through 360 degrees. They are not growing upside down, as there is no constant up or down. Also the omega system would be used as a hydroponic system, not tipping gallons of soil upside down.

i already have two prototypes in progress. one is a drip, the other is aero. the drip im working to have moving like the omega. and with light rails i can see that every inch of the plant recieves light

il let you all know if i revolutionize the style of indoor growing :rasta:
