Yep a round septic tank or an old fuel tank(cleaned of fumes!!!!!!) would make an incredibly good vertical grow setup.

Here is the only way to do it:

Within the caves of middle Tennessee, growers constructed a complex of offices, living quarters, restroom facilities, and a climate-controlled forest of over one thousand cannabis plants.

^^^ sorry to inform you but that is NOT the way to do it... if it was the way to do it, the idiot would not have gotten caught...

although they did generate 12-14 crops per year, pulling in an estimated 100 pounds per grow, it only lasted for roughly 5 years before the guy was caught...

anyways, i read that the guy only got 2 years prison... i also read that he now runs a russian mail order bride service...

dont steal power!

at 13 crops a year 100lbs each 5 years 3000 a lb =19,500,000 I would do 2 years for that kind of money.

Easy there Junior. People always go ballistic on numbers. When your yielding a 100pack per round, you ain't gonna be offing it for 3k per bro. And even with stealing power your overhead on an operation that big is gonna be monstrous. Was he making bank? Sure. But it's never what anyone thinks.

I remember when I first started growing small and thought about the prospect of growing the amount I do now and thinking "man if I'm ever able to pull that off I'm going to be a millionaire!" Ya, right.

I remember a thread on Overgrow many years ago about the Cannabis Cave, Im not sure if it was in tennessee or not though.

:yoinks: THIS FUCKING DICK HEAD WAS CAUGHT CAUSE HE WAS STEALING POWER? :noway:

What an ass hole! He obviously wasn't a member of any forum. He clearly could have retired from this an old man if he was using solar panels.
do you have any idea how many solar panels/batteries you would need?

I have also heard about another one somewhere in Nor Cal., I believe. A group of hustlers built a house (with no building permits filed, etc, etc) stupid stupid with an underground grow, which was pretty elaborate. They probably would've been fine had they built the house properly.

that was wild-maybe he was afraid of the monthly total more than paying it? sounds dumb but maybe there was another reason.

LOL So you think he was CHEAP? Im sure he could afford the electricity, but a $2000-3000 electric bill would draw some attention... Second solar panels would never cover that amount of electricity. You would need a large wind mill and by the looks of the surrounding hills that wouldnt of worked.
