Growing in lower temps

My new setup is running lower temps than I'd like it due to the extremely cold weather. My night time low is around 59 F, with light on at peak getting up to around 72 F. I am already running my night light cycle during the day to try and take advantage of the warmer daytime temps, plus have a heater running 24 hours in the area it is in. I've not seen any dramatic effects on the plants yet, but is there anything I should look for? Will the lower temps have any major effects?

I personally don't know for sure , but I've read cannabis plants can withstand up to 20°f tempature drop at night

I've also seen where ppl say it alters the color making it purple

Not 100% on that tho

the plants will probably grow smaller,my temps are cooler than what you say due to underfloor heating breakdown, and they are defo smaller.leaves included ! the problem with heating with a fan is ,hot air rises ,so if you extract you will be constantly extracting the hot air,you could put a fan in the top to direct the hot air back down, otherwise just grim and bear it until the weather picks up,also be on the look out for powdery mildew and general rot.
all the best .willyweed :)

I literally have the same exact situation and have been buggin about it since I started growing in this new location. The ambient temp of the room the tents are in gets to about 55 degrees at night(im hoping this will go up as it gets warmer outside). Good news is I don't need to use my air cooled hood with the glass, an extractor is suficient for removing hot air from the light.

My buddy who has extensive experience growing comercially said it's no big deal, and that colder night temps actually help increase terpene/trich production. My lights on temps are 75-80max and my night temps get down to about 60degrees. I haven't noticed any ill effects, even on my young seedlings. I have a hard time believing some of those out door plants in Northern Califonia are effected by cool night time temps. Some of those outdoor plants are as big as small trees. Colder night time temps also bring out some interesting colors!

I think we might be the lucky ones. Excessive heat seams to be most people's problem!

Your main problem is the difference in day and night temps which influences the amount of internodal growth which directly relates to yield. Many growers lower their night temps in the last two weeks to bring out purple color in strains that are predisposed to turning color, however it can be detrimental to yield in my opinion, in the first four weeks. I would personally recommend running your lights at night so your day and night temps have less of a difference
