Growing in a shipping container

I was looking into setting up 20 to 40 foot shipping containers.
Anyone have any experience setting one up, Electricity etc..
How about underground? whatchthink. :headbange

I think a shipping container if done right would be very stealthy and a great idea the problem I see is what would you use for a door to get access into the conatiner without letting too much light into the container.

Access from underneath. Just cut a two foot by two foot square. For the backdoor, just put a couple zipper curtains, leave a couple feet from the backdoor to the curtains. A five tone truck is also good, you can drive it to an alternate location if needed. You could even supply a couple lights and fans as you drive....lol. Building mobile greenhouses is an idea I hope to start doing. From two lights in a mini-van to 10 lights in a semi-trailer. Just unplug your 50A range plug, or two range plugs and away you go.......

I like the truck concept. Shipping containers are basically 1800$ delivered. for a 20 or 40 footer. They are lightproof and watertight. Thick ass wood floors. A little interior insulating or even insulating pain on the out side and viola. I like it. Run a 50amp. When your done use it for storage. I do like the truck Idea. Keep it in running shape and you still have a truck.

i recently smoked out with a guy who just finished a fat crop of purps ( we all know better he does it for the people on the street who will pay), anyway he grows in a shipping container like you guys describe. hes plannin on renting some heavy equipment and bury it. the perfect grow room if you ask me. temp will stay cool, wont be detected if buried deep enough, run on generators and youve got it made.

ive read about a guy who buried a shipping container. had terrible problems with humidity and standing water getting caught around the container. i reckon it could work ok in the right kind of ground/soil though, but d have no idea what sort that would be.

What you could do... and this is just total daydream kinda crap out my ass.. But you never know when someone will actually do it...

Dig your trenches for electrical and run all your wires to accommodate your needs. Run some piping to let in your fresh air, and for a container that size, say 6in PVC, or even two or three lines as intake, and the same thing for your exhaust. On those 6in PVC pipes you can hook up your exhaust fans and with plenty of CFMs you'll have plenty of airflow and standing humidity shouldnt be too bad. The way you guys are saying about cutting holes underneath for access... Well hey.. go bunker style and build a step down into your entrance... Just imagine.. going 10-20ft below ground to your 'budbunker' entering you container that could be your bomb shelter too...

Ok.. im done being crazy and dreamy.. Sounds like a good idea with that mobile truck trailer though... Props to who ever pulls it off first :)
