Growing good weed but the buds are a little loose, how to dense up??

These are the last of my hydroton/rockwool batch, they were grown under 400 HPS and fed Lucas Formula + calmag + florablend compost tea + a dash of dutchmaster flower with zinc, just a dash.

anyways, the buds look really good, very frosty, smells nice, but they are little too fluffy for my liking. I see weed at the clubs that is super dense, hardpack, you can barely squeeze it. this stuff is SUUUPER fluffy.

see how the leafs are very fluffy, like most of the nug is just frosty leaf instead of actual hardpack bud.

I give them good air, humidity in the 40s-50s, LOTS of lumens we damn near had the 400 as close as possible. We also gave them lots of CO2 with evaporating pucks, but maybe thats not enough.

A couple answers i got from friends and others were that i should add Plant Hormones or something called "Ooze", what do you guys think.

Catman definetly could be correct, or it could have been the temperature when you were flowering. You stated the RH but not the room temp or canopy temp. If it's too warm for your girls they will have airy buds like that.

u shouda got better results with a 400w. i agree with catman its prob the genetics. how tall were they when they finished?

these were done with 300w of t5s.

could be a very slight light leak. maybe just a lil shy on p during the end of flowering.. looks like straight up fire tho. and i wouldnt trip too much over rock hard club buds. those are grown by greedy cashcroppers who like to use bloom boosters to up yields. i think super dense buds give me an instant headache, burn like shit, and taste like hash.

HMMM>..it must be the heat!

My flowering room temps are around 70 but sometimes aproach 80, at night the temps drop down to 60.

the strain is strawberry cough X deep chunk but there are many debates about what it really is, it came out a nice bright green with purple tint.

Here are some bubbakush i just picked, but i think they might be AK or some other strain. They are a little more denser but some still are kinda airy.

now that i think about it, i am growing two different plants, ones a hindu kush the other is supposedly grand daddy purple, those buds are looking alot more denser but they still got a couple weeks to go.

Plus i will see how these bubba kushes turn out in a week or two after drying, i will update you guys.

lower temps & for sure more watts hps.

rarely do you find buds grown under 1k that are light and airy.... save for some hazes...

ooze smoooze.
thats stuff is like those "natural male enhancement products", but for plants.
a friend of mine is running ooze, plus a few other yellow bottles (not sure what) based on the advice from the shop that just started carrying it. he's dripping in 6x6 ropckwool cubes, using adv connie + sensizym, sweetleaf, sweet, carboload, and the aformentiones yellow bottled products including oooze...

after seeing the results i wouldnt buy oooze. didn;t help him like he was hoping...

if your temps are 70-low 80's i think you are in the right zone..the only other thing i would say is to increase watts per sq/ft and some better nutes maybe. goodluck

My guess is strain. I grow organically in soil with freekin' cfls and I get pretty dense buds. I wouldn't worry about it too much. Try some other strains and make sure your environment is dialed before you worry about bloom boosters and stuff. I think some of that super dense stuff you see at the club has been vacuum sealed, which makes it more dense than it really is "naturally" (not all of it though).

my skunk#2 is hard like wood. you could put the dried buds in a vise and saw through them like a board. other strains grown in my environment have varied. but non as dense as sk2.

Get rid of everything in BOLD RED above and get rid of your friends  (that was a joke) Adding anything is not the answer. In fact.......it might be the problem.

CO2 is not going to do you any good in temperatures as low as you have. For CO2 to really be effective you'll need temperatures in the 85* range. Anything less is a total waste of time and money. Don't waste your money on CO2 until you have EVERYTHING else dialed in tits and you have the strain that can eat it up. It will not increase you bud size. It will increase the speed at which the plant grows though allowing it to consume what your feeding it at a faster rate. Assuming the food is mixed right.

What type of lamp are ya using? Is it old or an elcheapo?

If everything else is set up correctly........its the genetics and there is nothing you can do about it. It might be a good strain but you can get a good strain with screwed up genes in that one plant. (like having a cross eyed child in a family of perfect people) (please tell me your child is not cross eyed) Ya have to choose your mother wisely and apparently this is not her.

Have you or a friend run this PLANT before / is it a clone or from seed?

I can get fat tight ass buds from a 400 HPS. So it is possible and may not be your light.
