$5 Million Worth of Pot Plants Found Growing in Southwest Dallas


DALLAS -- Sources have confirmed to FOX 4 that officers aboard a Dallas Police Department helicopter have discovered a large field of marijuana plants in southwest Dallas.

The field is so big that police have called in federal and state agencies to help, according to our sources.

The crop is located at I-20 and Spur 408 and can only be seen from the air.

Sources said the chopper was doing a routine flyover when someone noticed the field.

Sunday's discovery marks the 3rd time in 3 weeks that authorities have found marijuana growing in places hidden from view, but close to busy areas.

On July 21, police discovered and cleared five to seven acres of pot plants that had been growing just yards away from a middle school in Grand Prairie.

It was the largest outdoor crop ever discovered in North Texas.

The plants were fed water through a sophisticated irrigation system, according to federal drug agents.

If grown to maturity, the 5-ton crop would have been worth anywhere from $5-10 million.

And on July 12, agents with the Drug Enforcement Agency found a large number of marijuana plants growing in a wooded area near the Trinity River in Dallas.

The secret pot farm was just 200 yards from the DEA's office building.

Agents said they found more than 300 plants, worth at least $300,000 on the street.

It's quite logical for them to grow actually. They have all the stolen equipment ready and all they need do is set it up, leave it for a month. Then go 'bust' themselves and tell their funding people they are faced with massively setup, well organised growers and their budget will leap for the next year.

Makes perfect economic sense really. It's free money to them and anything that helps make money without wrecking the status quo is great news. You can bet they are having a Krispy Kreme frenzy right about now.

I think I read somewhere, someone mentioned we as a people should just start planting marijuana seeds in the US. any and everywhere there's dirt! Flood the government with so much marijuana that it becomes TOTALLY cost prohibitive to continue tearing them down!

I think that's what I will do. I think the USA ought to be a little more greener anyway! Give these "authorities" something to do other than make up shit. In 2005, the DEA claimed that 205 MILLION plants were pulled in Indiana alone(Bullshit). The more we plant, the more money they ask Congress for to eradicate this dread terrorist plot.

Anyone see that documentary "IN POT WE TRUST" it is about the henchy law and trying to get it passe so that the federal government cannot procescute people for smoking weed for medical purposes. Anyways this asshole federal DEA forgot his name....but a real unhappy fat pig of a man flys around in a helacopter looking for pot plants growing in California. He is nothing more then a long haired unhappy no dick having ass.....that takes pride in hurting others.

He finds a huge grow of about 10,000 plants with each having their own irrigation system and they show them eating the farmers food that was stored at the grow and chopping all this weed down, laughing and having the time of their lives being all pleased with themselves. All the while I am sitting their thinking if only it was legal I would have you procescuted for destruction of property you sawed off pieace of a man.

It was 10 mintues from the California DEA office.

I wanted to jump threw the television and slap the guys who were giving this ass an award for "getting 10 million dollors worth of pot out of the hand of our KIDS".

Please come on now...I am sure KIDS had enough money and knowledge to construct a grow like that.
