Umm, not really. Rebecca Dekeuster et al. won 4 Maine permits - she is a berkeley patient group founder. I was wrong : the stat was 4 out of 6 permits went to Cali folk.

and then they found out they were from out of state and were denied.

Dont think that greenhouse(inbetweendoor)herb will cut out here.Gotta have realy nice indoor for most clubs to even look at it.It also helps alot if it is organic. Im glad to see some places do wanna pay a little more for well flushed organic meds.3400-3800 for well done "mirco grown" boutiqe stuff.

Nope, growers are leaving California, they should definitely not head here, the opportunity has already been lost IMHO.

what can you guys tell me about the joshua tree area?
there is no way i would consider a large CA city, but do you think a grower could make it in joshua tree?

joshua tree is a shit hole in the desert
its hot. its dry. it sucks....
joshua tree, yucca valley, 29 palms... armpit of california...
lots of meth manufacturing going around out there
i didnt find it very pleasant.

its cheap out there though. for a reason

could i grower make it out there? depends....
where you gonna take all your wares - LA? have fun on those road trips...

I came to Ca expecting that everyone would be like me,a knowledgeable passionate grower. I found the opposite to be true. Most growers I've met from Cali don't love the plant enough, they love the $. They all grow it but most don't grow it well or even know what good herb looks like.
ALL the herb I've seen from clubs and dispensary's (in my short time here) is of a lesser quality than I'm used to. Usually over fertilized and under flushed, over trimmed, and still expensive!
Most of the truly successful growers I've met in Ca were not born here. Most guys I've met admit they take what they have for granted once talking to me about what it's like for non med state growers.
If your a talented grower who has a LOT of drive and skill you can do well in Ca. If you are a normal pot head grower who does not make growing their absolute priority, good luck.
As much respect as I have for much of what goes on in Ca,as a betting man that I am I would bet most Ca growers would fail or be busted in a non med state any day.

Wow I love the growing love watching the bud fill then get covered in frost.

Thanks again everyone, alot of good insight. I'll be coming over there in january, and I'll be bringing a consistent supply of absolute no-bullshit top shelf head-stash material. Check out my greenhouse thread btw, thanks!

not true. i had an outdoor a few years back no one could believe it wasn't indoor. it all depends on how well you take care of the plants. nothing beats California sunshine. it all comes back to if you are a hack grower growing for the love of money or if you truly love the plant and have a passion for it.

+1. I have seen outdoor sold as indoor many times.

You are a serious masochist. Absolutely no reason to move to california to grow for the unappreciative and lowballing clubs. Has NOTHING to do with "we're full, don't want you here" I swear . . . Though it is properly fucked up that the clubs have another grower to rip off, and there is 1 more grower undercutting us all. Thanks for nothing in that regard. We need cool people just why would you want to put yourself through this?

greenhouse is a dime a dozen here right now....if i had any advice for an out of state growers its do indoor OG kush varieties and you can still get a solid number anywhere. greenhouses and outdoors right now are everywhere....nice greenhouse crop but that whole harvest here would probably only net 2k per pack on black market..less for clubs.

we definately could use more good indoor OG kush here...theres always demand for some good fire OG.

also prop 19 didnt pass so its still open season on growers here. clubs shutting down left and right, G-houses getting raided. if your gonna take the risk i would do it in a state closer to NY or boston so you can move your product there easier. like i said...michigan or maine sounds like money right now. you can grow some good weight, have low risk, and be able to move buds to high paying markets much easier than from california...
