Grow Tent vs. Open Room

Hey all,

If I dont have any concerns with the smell, privacy etc. of my grow am I better off growing in an open room?

Thanks a bunch

if really no security concerns, I'll go with open room...more confortable to work in, easier to manage the heat due to bulbs etc...just my 2 cents...

I'd say as long as you can concentrate the lighting to best serve your girls, and are able to make the room pitch black for the lights-off time, go for the whole room :)

Maybe Paqnampiza lives on a bunch of acreage in a legal grow state? :D I don't know... I am not overly concerned with smell where I am, either. Privacy, yes...

I love using tents, the most important part of growing is maintaining a consistent environment and with a more confined space it becomes easier. Choosing equipment like heaters, ACs, and dehuyes is based off cubic ft so would you rather regulate a 10x10 tent or a 20x12 room? Also depending on your environment you might want to run a HEPA filter on your intake to help control mold and mildew spores from entering your space. And I also agree with Watts, no matter what the legal situation is in your area you should keep the grow to yourself. Maybe it won't be a cop coming in, but there's always some scummy ass fools trying to rob people and make a quick buck, my advice is keep your cash crop a secret its safer on your wallet and your well being. Good luck brotha

Def agree about odor control. Smelling your grow is the same as seeing your grow. Even in Colorado, keeping your business your business alone is important. It's not smart to advertise.

There are advantages either way. With A/C, you'll end up doing the whole room anyway, same for dehueys. Tents make light control & odor control easier, depending. Too many unknown variables to offer much of an opinion.

This here is very good advice. I say you take what CC has said and use that. Consistency in the environment is paramount.

You really need to be concerned about that stuff.

Even those of us who aren't very social have people come to the door for one reason or another, family, friends, neighbors & others who may show up where we don't necessarily want them to know about a grow.

The problem with growing is that you're an absolute sitting duck wrt rollovers. Remember that time your buddy came by with his cousin a year ago? Well, now that cousin got busted for something stupid, and he's willing to cooperate for sentencing consideration. He'll rat you out in a heartbeat. So the cops will come sniffing around, literally, looking for anything to corroborate the rat's story. If they find it, you're busted.

Security stops problems before they start. That's particularly important in jurisdictions where they figure that dirty fucking hippie stoners need to be somebody's bitch in the prison system for a long, long time.

Just sayin'.

Really appreciate all the advice guys, ive taken it all into consideration.

Decided on keeping things inside a tent. Will be much easier to keep the environment controlled, and the risk of being revealed just isnt worth it.

Thank you
