Grow room ventilation vs humidity

check out the pic im attaching. its for the proper VDP for MJ grows indoors.

I run 72-75% rh in veg and 60-65% in flower. this all goes by my temps, and I can control my ultrasonic fogger system by adjusting the fan speed. houseofhydro.com is the place I bought my 9 disc fogger w/float, 80mm waterproof fan and fan speed controller.

proper air flow is a must as well.

That's not just for growing dope that's vpd for the entire greenhouse growing industry.

I only grow mj, I thought it was specific for mj only, not only for any and all plant varieties (thanks for the heads up). but this IS a mj growing forum, hence the reason why ive posted this up and countless others have done as well. to enlighten the less informed.

what do the numbers in the grid mean? (the ones besides temp and %humidity)

there is color banding, i am guessing the brownish sandwiched between the white is the sweet spot.

the orangish color is the sweet spot of where your room should be for ideal growing conditions. the numbers are the VDP %.

I just added a humidifier indoors because it gets way too dry according to the vpd charts. I learned about this a few weeks ago and I just added it about 1 week ago. Deffo improvement. I am averaging 77 deg and 60% rh. I was at like 47% without the humidifier.

I live in a fairly humid area, my grow before last i had botrytis from the bud getting too big i think. one thing i did to counter that in my Most recent grow was to top many, many times so i got a number of smaller buds instead of four big flowers per plant. Another thing you could do is do some good research on your strains, selecting ones that seem to be pretty mold/pest resistant. Ive read some people recommend growing local clones if theyre available because someone probably already did that work for you in selecting a good plant that foes well in your area, also ive heard of people breeding a strain for a few generations to climatize the plant to the environment, then doing the clone thing. if choosing seeds, and the description says "mold/pest resistant" dont always believe it. But i tend to believe when the breeder says "watch for mold in late flowering withthis strain" someone with more knowledge than me might be able to chime in but i always stayed away from hydro/coco because i always thought it would raise the humidity in my tent. My grow was small though so i couldnt justify the cost of adding air conditioning, or a large dehumidifier. I did however buy a small whisper dehumidifier from the internet, would turn off at about a cup, and it did seem to help reduce the humidity. Closing all of the windows when it rained too made a huge difference.

If you really want to exchange the air I think it would be better to do it every 6-8 hours that way you are getting fresh air in but actually giving the dehuey a chance to get caught up without over working it constantly. But if you are using a window ac that will also help dehumidify your space whenever the ac is working.

Many Cannabis plants in nature are desert dwelling plants and grow well with little to no humidity. The best plants ive seen grown are grown in the high desert with enormous amounts of resin.
Ive grown plants quicker in 25-30% RH than at 60% + I grow utilizing the soils microlife so if it is too humid bad bacterias can develop wether your flowering or not. Just because plants aren't flowering doesn't mean they can't still be susceptable to pathogen infection.

There are no ill effects to having a low RH unless u rapidly switch from high RH after the plant is used to that. Lower the RH the less likely mold will develop and the arid conditons help with resin production from what i know.
I just got a portable Whynter ARC-110WD air conditoner for my grow. Dual hose intake and exhaust with a dehuey, Carbon filter and hepa prefilter. We use these at another few grow rooms i setup with great results! Super clean and cool, perfect conditions in the growroom at all times.
