... what the warranty on the light ? Why would some bars dark out on the ends ?
Is there any fire hazards I should be aware of ?

This was my first second "kit" I can tell you the tent was upgraded to 5x5 its acceptable
The fan is awesome the vent tube plastic flex (dont trust it) upgrade to metal asap
The FCE 4800 (I know its for a 4x4 veg) not so great deteriorates quickly running at less than 100% due to high temps 90s
What I mean is the diodes start to black out randomly on the bar ends within a year of service
Accessories ... not sure that was included... thru their ebay site
Anyway I quess being fair maybe a 3 outta 5 star I expected more from the light

Hope this information is helpful for the vendors

When you think the temp are the same throughout the grow room, they can vary drastically. Placing these above and below the canopy I was able to move my dehumidifier around to make all sections fairly even.

AC Infinity (ACI) products.. I've grown in many different ways. But 2 years ago switched from HID (600w-1000W HPS) to LED 400w COB (California Light Works).. from 4'x4' tent to 2'x4' tent (Gorilla), from 4 plants to ONE (next run will be 2) few more iterations with success but went to the ACI AI controller.. Maintaining 84F and 72% RH%, all good with lights on but lights out: AI maintains lights on RH% (73%) and Temps (83F).. I want 65% RH and 73F).. There has to be a way.. But with all ACI components.. if I were newb, one of these ACI complete packages could put one ahead of the game.. the learning curve is steep in the beginning..

I’d recommend the GROWERS CHOICE 500w cmh. Dimmable to 215w and overboost to 530ish. Can be had for underv$175 if you look hard enough. Downside is bulbs are around $75-100.
Guy on eBay has them new for $115 plus shipping

Great thread @acespicoli!

Wish I had more time to participate but kind of jacked for time now. In general terms, I've been exceedingly happy with Spider Farmer SMB LED lights. Been running them now for almost 5 years and while a couple of individual LEDs have burned out, the plants are still loving them. I keep cheap, USB fans blowing over the main board / heat sink to keep 'em cool:

1000016247.jpg

That's a 5X5 AC Infinity tent I've been fairly happy with but the cover for the zippers are a pita because they collect soil, water, dead leaves, etc..

Those ACI 6-in clip fans have been running 24X7 on a 10 setting and have been _perfect_ for my needs. So very glad I didn't get the oscillating ones that break down because a stripped gears. One thing you can't see is the 8-in Terra Bloom exhaust fan that's almost at the 5-year mark and it too has been on 24X7, at a setting of 10.

That's about it for the equipment, except for a couple of Tripplite surge suppressors, that are hooked up to arc fault power outlets, with cheap digital timers that I probably need to upgrade.

Great thread!

Unless you get the $100 deal on the 315w CMH (ballast, bulb, adapter and light hood), a decent LED will be less expensive and better performing over the long run.. I always worried about fires w HID types.

My 2x4 tent with 2xcheese= 16-19oz dried.. 400wLED.
Environment dead on.. ins/outs/Temp/RH.. VPD is a good yardstick.

Soil or Hydro? I'm looking to start a cab or tent grow for two plants but the affordable cabinet kits only fit 1 plant. Curious about your 2x4 tent. How's your Gorilla tent? This a 2x3 would work for 2 plant? If I go with a tent I was thinking about trying this kit from Vivosun:

Smart Grow Tent Kit GIY-SGS-32 Pro 2x3, 2-Plant Complete System, with WiFi E42A Controller, 100W AeroLight LED Grow Light, 4-inch AeroZesh T4 Ventilation Combo, and AeroWave E6 Gen2 Clip-on Fan

I grow in PPKs w Turface MVP (baked clay), tent is Gorilla, yes.. it's good but do not like the viewing windows opening up horizontally rather than vertically.. I've not used either Vivosun or ACI kits but like ACI controllers better.. the 2x4' ACI kit is $650 and still need humidifier and other stuff. Initially it ain't cheap getting started indoors. Yes, one could run 2 in a 2'x3' tent.. tent height is a consideration too, when she starts to stretch .

EVO SPECS
These were very popular in the Best LED thread in the Spider Farmer Offerings
ACI and Vivo seem to have nice kits, im interested to see how everyone is doing with them
I was just looking at modest sized tents most are 600D UV coated mylar, heavy duty zippers are a must

  • A digital controller designed to equip AC Infinity devices with smart controls to produce the optimal environment.
  • Control up to four devices from fans to grow lights and provide each with their own independent programming.
  • Automate devices to dynamically change speed and brightness levels in response to temperature, humidity, and VPD.
  • Additional programming includes grow cycles, scheduling, timers, minimum levels, and custom transitions.
  • Pair with our app via Bluetooth or WiFi to unlock advance programs, set alarms, notifications, and view climate data.

Product Description

The CONTROLLER 69™ PRO is a next-gen digital thermostat controller designed to provide AC Infinity devices with smart programming to produce the most optimized environment. This central command unit connects with up to four different devices from fans to lights to provide each with independent climate and time-based programming. The backlit display reads temperature in Fahrenheit or Celsius and can be switched off while programs run in the background. Built with a kickstand and includes hardware to be hung on walls. The 12-foot sensor probe with thermal-alloy head accurately detects current temperature and humidity. It also detects VPD (vapor pressure deficit), which measures ambient temperature, relative humidity, and the plant’s leaf temperature in order to determine the optimal atmosphere. This allows you to monitor growing conditions more closely than if you were to rely on temperature and humidity alone. This product is a part of the UIS™ platform of grow devices and smart controllers, designed to integrate with each other to achieve your ideal environment.

Intelligent Programming

Connect up to four devices to provide each with shared or independent programming. Go beyond basic on/off triggering by setting dynamic programs that adjust fan speed and light intensity in response to changing temperature, humidity, and VPD. Set minimum baseline levels that your devices will constantly run at, only increasing when triggers are activated. Timer, cycle, and schedule modes add custom on-demand activation for a variety of indoor growing uses. Securely connect with the AC Infinity app via Bluetooth or WiFi to remotely access your devices, unlock advance programs, set alarms, notifications, view historical charts, and export CSV data.

Compatibility

Devices in the UIS™ platform, including all AC Infinity LED grow lights and EC fans, are compatible. Includes two adapter dongles to connect with EC-motor fans built with 4-pin Molex connectors. Compatible AC Infinity devices include those like:

  • Shutter Exhaust Fans
  • Environmental Humidifiers
  • Floor Wall Circulation Fans
  • Inline Duct Fans
  • Clip-on Circulation Fans
  • Whole House Fans
  • LED Grow Light Bars
  • LED Grow Light Boards
  • Control Outlet Devices (0=Off, 1-10=On)
  • Control Other Brand Lights
Expensive, but if money was not a concern hard to pass trying one of these kits

IMO the light is the heart of the system I always go from there 🤷‍♂️

I sent back the Vivosun controller and now use ACI AI controller.
as far as I can remember, the ACI had, over a year and a half ago, better connectivity and adaptability.
Their tents? IDN, never have seen one personally but the marketing material for ACI seems more complete.
I have nothing to do with ACI except for first hand use. Products in my garden are mixed.

This is the thing temp humidity, very hard to regulate
The difference
open closed
day night

OK so there are variables... lights on lights off vented not vented
also the fan controller

So AI controller, Heat AC and dehumidifier / humidifier (dont they make a single piece of equipment for that ? ;) )
Never even looked into the controller that much before, tech is moving forward in the grow arena quickly
Thought my temp and humidity plug sensor/controllers were advanced ...

Im looking for 10 degree F temp swings and id like to keep humidity at 45%

VPD is important also if leaf temp at what temp does the leaf stop the photosynthesis process ?
Anyone ever looked into this ? Photosynthesis and Transpiration thats what were really talking about here

Transpiration is the process of water movement through a plant and its evaporation from aerial parts, such as leaves, stems and flowers. It is a passive process that requires no energy expense by the plant.[1] Transpiration also cools plants, changes osmotic pressure of cells, and enables mass flow of mineral nutrients. When water uptake by the roots is less than the water lost to the atmosphere by evaporation, plants close small pores called stomata to decrease water loss, which slows down nutrient uptake and decreases CO2 absorption from the atmosphere limiting metabolic processes, photosynthesis, and growth.[2]
