Grow guide

Hi, I'm looking for a complete grow guide from seed to harvest. Something that's will cover what to do in weeks 1-4 of veg and 1- 8 of flower. Feeding, watering, transplanting. I've seen you tube videos, alot of them seem to skip over alot of things.

Hi and welcome here. :)

I don't know any guide but can tell if you are really interested in plants, you just read like here on ic. Learning by doing is imho the best way and you can always ask here, make a report... ✌️

The above "best books on marijuana cultivation" is a real humdinger of a link. :)

ThIs Leafly link has a few of the same books, the Jorge Cervantes book is a number 1 seller @ amahzon.
I like Ed Rosenthals writings, but would not pay 45 dollars to own it, perhaps the library has a copy these days. :)

I remember George before he became Jorge back In the day when he published under the name " George Van Patten" way back in the eighties when his "whatever you do, don't grow pot" book on growing in rock wool that proved to be good advice for growing alot of pot sea of green style. He's been writing for quite awhile now. :)

When Botanicare Nutrients first started out, I was a product development (secret) Cannabis test grower where I vaugely remember when Botanicares founder "tray" got served with a warrant for the names of Customers that had bought Van Pattens Rockwool book at his one and only retail outlet in Tempe Arizona, after George/ Jorge had been raided by the feds during as part of their "Operation Green-merchant" sting about '89-'90, where/when they attempted to shut down nationwide all the mail order and some brick and mortar pot growing supply businesses.
The DEA obtained mail-order records from the shippers and proceeded to do nationwide (shipping address) front door "knock and talks" and proceeded to pop alot of growers.
Van Patton and Cervantes had the same fax order line, Tray (Tres) wasn't selling pot growing books but that Cervantes character sure was.
Tres did comply with the warrant and I quit. The owners, he and his parents, eventually sold Botanicare for a buttload of money and he is probably living happily ever after on his island compound somewhere with the folks in the guest house.
These days we just call him "Dick", and it ain't a nickname for Richard. :)

in the late 1980's the DEA believed that High Times magazine, pot seed merchants, indoor pot growers, pot journalists and hydroponics equipment manufacturers were a criminal conspiracy worthy of a nationwide takedown.

Using gardening equipment ads in High Times as their roadmap, undercover DEA agents visited hydroponics stores and contacted hydroponics wholesalers, asking for advice and materials for marijuana cultivation.

The DEA subpoenaed United Parcel Service (UPS) delivery records associated with hydroponics stores, getting information on tens of thousands of people suspected of procuring hydro equipment for marijuana growing. Hydroponics retailers were already nervous, noting that Congress started passing laws in 1985 that criminalized otherwise legal products if they were "intended for illegal use."

Note: I've been denied service in a headshop for calling a bong a bong instead of its correct, proper name "waterpipe". To this day, they are still nervous about that word in smoke-shops, even though recreational/ medical Cannabis delivery devices for puffin' pot such as bongs are without question legal now, at least it is in my neighborhood. :)

Sorry about the long rambling tangent of an answer,
I'd buy Georges book, I see that they use it as a textbook at Cannabis grow universities and is generally very well regarded.

start to read and ask here in the IC forum, and write down everything you do in your closet, your own notebook will be best one for avoid future mistakes and improve future grows as well, your grow depends of much personal grow conditions/factors, space, time, materials, tools, weather, and so on... in books you will learn useful things and interesting things for sure, but it will be also distracting from the real conditions you are dealing with...

also, writing down what you do/done will be helpful when something seems wrong, you will be able to explain here (in the forum) what you done which day... if not you can forgot easily what you done 5 days ago about changing your watering solution, or when you moved that light, or when you started to do this or that...

my daily notes are all the same format :

"09/25/2022 S 05 G 12 F48
G watering 5L, canna 1.2ml, Ph 5.86
F watering 5L, canna 1.6ml, PK 1.0ml, Ph 5.89

seedlings are popping up, growing plants looks fine, moved light up 2cm, flowering plants looks great"

this is example, not real datas

first the time stamp, and short letters for different stages, S is seedling, G for growing, F for flowering, D for drying, whatever works for you, and right after this letter the days counter, then i always know at what day is happening what :)
the i note what i give to what plants, most precisely possible
then write what i do, all, moving light, moving container, doing bending, defoliating, taking cuttings, all, absolutely all, temperature, plants size, all

and if i do nothing i write time stamp and "nothing" under

it is sometimes little boring to do, but with time it turns as a routine, and makes things easier, years after years i can read about past crop and compare nutrients level for example, of plants size, or light distance, and read my personal notes about how it's going (good or bad), then i can improve/change/ try something new, with more insurance and self confidence, and much better results :)

something else, use a pen and paper notebook, forgot about computer, app things, tablet, dumbphone functions, and so on... they will turn off, they will die, they will stole your datas, they will delete them, they will break with no warning, lol, and so on... pen and paper are best friend, pen is out ink ? spend some peanuts for a new one, notebook is finish ? get a new one, better size, nice paper, lines no lines, agenda or plain white pages... so many options... and you can read your crop notes from 10 years ago you don't need a power cord or some electric convector nor bullsh*** software whatever, so again : daily notes, paper notebook, pen, and you good for years
:)

I have never read anything that was as comprehensive as these forums; but if you wanted to pick up a book I would recommend Ed Rosenthal's MARIJUANA GROWER'S Handbook. It is pretty well rounded in basic knowledge for noobies. They use it as a text book at the cannabis college.
