In the end the GorillaZ look like something to try, at least they are cheap

If you don't mind about hermie...meaning you can put some time to remove any eventual male flower, especially at nodes at mid-flowering, yes, maybe they worth a try. I didn't smoke it yet, but I'm pretty sure you can find good smelly plants.

an avalanche of resin!
absolutely fantastic!

Greasy shots

yeah nice colors and good job mate

BrianBerry Honey Lemon have been discarded. All of them.
They were all pretty plants with a lot of resin, but basically also with a lack of aroma. I didn't found anything worth to be kept as mom.

MangoWidow by Mr.Nice is next to the harvest. They're at 65 days after the switch and 2 of them ready to be harvested. Other 2 of them need one more week or ten days.

Flowers look nice, they have enough resin, good shape and colors, not so leafy, not super-dense but not even fluffy.
On the growing side all of them are hybrids, good balance between indica and sativa with a nice vigor overall. I didn't see any nanner or male flower on all the 4 females I grown. All of them shown some red/purple on leaves.

About the aroma side...they are very similar, all of them. They all share the same main smell with some difference between each pheno.

MangoWidow #3 (65 days flo)

This pheno would take 75 days for a good ripening, like the others it looks good and its aroma it's something like mango, it's quite strong and fuck it really makes me think about SensiSkunk. The aroma range was really similar, only stronger for MangoWidow. Overall I don't like it very much but as always it need to be tested later to decide.

MangoWidow #4 (65 days flo)

This pheno is really similar to the previous. It still needs some time to finish the flowering. Flowers are similar too, not too leafy, enough resin but not that much, same average stretching and also on the smell side they share the same mango/sensiskunk smell but this pheno add some different notes to it, I can smell some coffee and some earth/wood. Nothing to go crazy for btw...at the least also here the intensity is pretty high, smell is quite strong when trichomes are touched.

MangoWidow #5 (65 days flo)

Unfortunately this pheno is the one with less smell. It has a little of that mango smell and nothing else. Compared to other phenos this one is faster to ripe, some more indica in it with less stretch and denser flowers and not much more to say honestly..it didn't impress me for sure.

MangoWidow #8 is the more interesting pheno of the group. It was growing like a sativa and ended the flowering faster then others...and the flower itself has nothing to do with sativa. Yield seems to be poor but the flowers looks good and dense also if it's a little flower. Stretching is greater than other phenotypes and leaves are more likely to be sativa leaves.

In the first stage of flowering the smell was different from others, it was smelling pineapple. Going along with flowering pineapple disappeared and that mango smell became the first main note also in this pheno. I must say this is the most smelling plant of the group and has a slight different notes, I can also smell some pine, pepper and it also remember me the smell comes out from a lawn just after a summer rain. It's a complex aroma and it could be the more interesting when smoked...will see is a couple of weeks.

Very nice flowers and plants... I always love your pics.

Thanks homie, glad you guys enjoy them!

I have some more for ya and for myself too...this time is about Sapphire Crystal by BeyondTopShelf at 55 days from the switch. This plant has barely any smell, it looks good overall, not so much resin like others but still a good plant too see. Real issue is about nanners...they're sprouting almost everywhere in the buds. Up, down, in the middle... Just cut it down and binned the copies. I have some more of this strain and at now they're ok.

I bought 3 LED bars made by SecretJardin to change the old fluo tubes in the cloning box.

Basically I'm really happy with them so far. They're still new but I'm saving a lot of space now and I'm also saving like 100W having the same results.

At the same time I like them because they're little, one piece, very easy to clean, plug 'n play and IP something water protection. Maybe the only bad point is the price...I highly doubt the technology inside worth the money they ask.

Overall I'm now using half the W for the same space.

picture.php

Compared to the older light system

picture.php

I decided to mix hot and cold spectrum to have a more balanced light for the plants but overall it's also pleasant for the eyes. It's very similar to a CMH spectrum at the end (I know as I'm using one just beside this box)

What do you maggers think about floraflex? I saw and see many different products and many of them seem to be interesting.
I'm trying their coco setup and will set up a drain to waste system.

This way I can grow easily many strains together but I still have a lot of doubts...one on all is about watering...I'm really curious to see what can happen if I keep my 15ON and 15OFF routine...at the same time I could go like for one watering per day...so 2 different watering techs where oxygen uptake is different.

I put 10 some rooted cuttings to veg and will move in the flower room as soon as they're ok to be switched. I will use only 8, two of them are just back-up clones.

In the pics they're just transplanted and I will keep them some days under the LED lights (100W total) because the light is soft and good for a rooting or recovering plant.

About floraflex...they're pretty simple to get ready

Just put one dry brick in the pot

picture.php

picture.php

That coco brick is not cheap compared to other brands but it's fucking easy and fast when you're going to work with a lot of plants imho.

I watered the brick with 1,5 liters of plain tap water and with 1 more liter of nutritive solution at 1.4 mS/cm where 0,3 mS/cm came from the tap water.
Coco itself has no minerals in it, I checked EC value. pH is lightly acidic but it's fine. Overall it needs 2 or 3 liters of water to fill the pot till the top.

picture.php

Dry coco brick weights 220grams. Once watered it goes around 1400 grams. Pot itself weights 120grams.

I'm waiting for more regular caps like this:

picture.php

Regular caps fit perfectly in the pots and seem to be very stable. First choice indeed.

Unfortunately I only found the single-use caps for this run. They're taller, don't fix in the pot so good and at the end they're not so stable. Well, at least they seems to do the same with some limits.

Last post for today is about part of the moms batch...I'm really happy because I finally see them growing perfect after maybe a 6 months period or even more, where springtails always caused slow down or deficiencies/yellowing and I did not recognize the signals soon enough.

I'm still not sure 100%, let's say 90...but Clorpiyfyros works for springtails and in low dosage it's not toxic at all (for plants, not for humans or animals).

They're growing in a different location, only 220W fluo tubes for a 120x120 growbox, no airflow at all and they get really huge considering their little pots (1 liter) filled with coco and perlite. I'm using just Canna Coco A+B and sometimes I add zymes or other things.

EC stays around 1 - 1.5
pH stays around 7
I use 80% RO water and 20% from the tap. No acids added.
Temps are usually between 20 and 30 C.

RH usually is very low, it's an average of 40% with peaks of 25 - 60.

Man the last few pages are just really nice with all the different updates and what not...!!!...

That’s too bad about a few of those strains showing the intersex traits...!!!...
The intersex trait thing has always made me curious about it all and how it all works...!!!... like for instence when a plant is growing fine and then just starts throwing nanners outta no where...!!!... I can see if the plant is stressed with a light leak or high temps or nutrient overdose or something like that but to just start throwing nanners out of no where at weeks three through week seven is just bullshit...!!!...

Everytime I see close up pics of the stalks and trichomes like that I just wanna jump inside the pic and go for a walk in the forest of trichomes...!!!...

That SecretCookies x looks killer by the way ...!!!...

Have a nice day bud...

I will post soon the TropicannaCookies harvest pictures and everything. Overall it's not as good as I was expecting.

SCxKM it's not bad at all...mostly kush smell

About floraflex...it could be a great way to grow, I'm sure. I don't mind to spend some more money if everything works as it should work, run after run, year after year...you know what I mean.

About the intersexual trait I bet it's almost all up to the breeders...many of them choose to follow the aroma side forgetting the sexual stability and maybe also other things. When you see how many strains are out on the market containing GG4, a super resinous with a good aroma plant coming from an hermie pollination...well you can understand how market has evolved and it's evolving. When you take a walk on various expos around and see the marketing about seeds...you also get an idea on it.

In this run MangoWidow demonstrated me that an old breeder work is more stable than new strains, but at the same time in the ''new strains'' I found many interesting smells.

And about the intersex traits...I have at least exodus cheese that not goes hermie at all...I mean I can open the door at lights off, take it out, stress it out and I can barely see a nanner at very late flowering. On the other side I have OrangeDieselV3 and it's maybe the most difficult plant to grow for me, everytime it goes crazy, self pollination, male flowers in different form and in different stages...and it ends always bad, even if traited with gloves, no stress at all.

At the end, in my case I choose to grow hydro the most stable ones and let the others for coco, so I can put many different plants under the same light, and if one goes crazy...it's not a big issue.

Ok guys, after 80 days from the switch I finally harvested TropiCanna Cookies by Oni Seeds.

12 seeds popped, 5 males and 7 females. All the 7 females shown some hermie signs before or later. 2 of them were heavily hermie, not even good to complete the flowering.

Males are already in the bin, I would never use such a strain to make seeds someday.

I think I was unlucky and didn't find anything special, on the other side I found quite a lot of male flowers and nanners and at the end, before smoking it, I can say I could have saved my money. I hope I'm wrong and when smoked they keep something special in the aroma, but it's something to hope, not to expect. What I'm expecting it's nothing good.

Few more days and I'll try it.

About the growing side what to say...are they F1? They don't seem to be F1 seeing how different smells are. Buds are similar overall.
Yield seems to be poor, average stretching, more indica than sativa flowers, not so vigorous.

pheno #2

Thispheno has a sweet aroma. I would say bubblegum with some Marseille soap in it. It's not so strong but I must admit I like it. I would be happy if this aroma will stay when smoked.
Flowers are not so leafy and this is good, resin also is good and buds seems to be dense enough. Not completely ready in the lower part even after 80 days.

TropiCanna Cookies #3 - 80 days

Flowers are a little leafy but overall the plants looks good with a good resin coverage.

Smell here is something remember me a wet soil, decomposing leaves, rotten, cat piss...not so strong apparently. Flowers are 100% ready, no white stigmas.
