Jo... where do you normally get your bags from? Just curious, i am considering using them in the future and looking for the best prices. I saw them in worms way and HTG.

worms way has the new white ones which seem interesting. But I have always just got 1/2G, 1G, and 2G ones off of ebay. I don't use them as much as I used to...but still nice and handy. I guess you could always get a size bigger, and cut the top down abit for ease of use...but if you're looking for a certain footprint size...that won't help.

Cheers,
SH

yea i checked out the new white ones may go with those and modify them a little bit. i want tall and narrow. doesnt look like i will find them unless some international memebers can point me to bags in liter sizes. maybe ill buy extra, guy them and glue gun them back together lol. 1 gallon would work for my setup but i think i could get better yeilds if they were only half a gallon larger.

just do a quick google search or try some of the sites reccomended in this thread. they are dirt cheap and reusuable, i think they are way better than solid plastic pots.

hey there jojajico. I just ordered a bunch of 2 gallon from http://www.texashydroponics.com/shop/home.php?cat=101 which are tall and slender. You can fit alot of plants into a real small place. I can fit 72 of these bags under (2) 1000 watt lights. I only fill them 3/4 of the way too so I have something to grab onto when I move them around so it really doesnt take alot of dirt. Those bags are really cheap too which I liked more than buying those pots which are a little more pricier but they do last longer. I was thinking they would be delivered under something something hydro which would of scared me but they came under a business name you would never think would be related to growing which was nice too. No matter how many you buy its $15 for shipping too. I wish I would of bought alot more if I knew that.

4'X8'= 32 square feet. This run im running 4 plants by 10 plants but there is enough room for 2 more rows long ways and 2 extra rows which would be 12 plants X 6 plants.

Ive used the white bags for some time now. Simply buy 3 gallon bags but roll the sides down and you can have any size you want!!! I start veg in 1 gallon and after three weeks transplant into 3 or five gallon bags. Holy Colas

ive been looking into taller skinny bags as well, mine are 3 gallon and 1.5 gallon wide bags and they take up too much space its not practical at all..the hydro store carries 1 gallons but they have huge pre made holes they are so big they rip when you lift them its ridiculous

i was going to go with 16 1 gallon bags in a 6 square foot area but i may try for 2 gallons, the square ones. may even try to extend 1 gallons to accomodate 2 gallons of medium. perhaps even the tree grow pots but i really was leaning towards the bags just think they are more practical.

Then go with one gallons and make your self a sea of green. perfect for smaller areas but will produce alot of pot. I have a large area so I tend to go large however the "SOG" growers (sea of green) have great success with lots of small plants (i mean in height only)

lol geez... ok i was doing a SOG from the beginning but im trying to get the largest possible containers using the same number of plants so that i can get greater yeilds from each plant. i think i may be able to get 16 2 gallons under a 600 in 6 sqft. i saw someone that got 25 in 9sqft. if u do the math it should work... we will see lol.
