This post is on Humboldt Dream, their version of Blue Dream.

First I like it - a lot.It isn’t at all what I would define as a blue dream. It is quite a bit heavier. I will be regrowing this almost immediately.

The effect is: hybrid, relaxing, euphoric, calming. It is strong, stoney, time gapping high. It isn’t 3 puff stuff but it’s close. It won’t put you immediately on the couch but with a few extra puffs but you will start to think about it. It is a very pleasant, nice happy high. It builds for 20 minutes and holds for an hour and a half maybe. I prefer it for late afternoon or evening.

The inhale is sweet and the exhale has blueberry notes. It doesn’t scream blueberry but it’s there. This is at 4 weeks cure and it is still smoothing out. The smoke smell is similar to blue dream but not as sharp or pungent.

The grow was different for me. It started out very slow and small. It was so slow I almost culled it a couple times to try another seed. I hate runts. I usually flip at 3-4 weeks, I let this go for 5 weeks veg and it was only 15” or so at the flip. It absolutely exploded after the flip. It finished at 40” topped. It had a strong growth reaction to LST and trimming.

It was lanky with medium to wide internodal spacing. It had longish narrow fan leaves. There was some interior sucker branching that needed to be trimmed. The stems were thin from the big stretch and required staking early. It looked a lot more Sativa than Indica. The smell in flower is sweet and floral with some citrus.

the buds were beautiful and boutique looking. The buds averaged golf ball to fist size, some small bigger. Not a lot of sugar leaves so trimming is easy.

The yield was modest, especially for blue Dream being legendary for big yields. I got a little over 5oz dry with very little larf - which I had pruned away continuously. I did lose 2+ oz to mold in the very top buds. This was my fault and not at all the plants. The heat and humidity was perfect for mold and I didn’t have my fans aimed for the bud tops. I’m sure I can do better with the yield next time. I would expect it to yield 9 to 12oz easily. This was a soil grow using Lotus nutes.

Humboldt says 60 days flower and it was exactly that.
