grinders on planes

are there any legal issues with taking an aluminium grinder on a plane?
classed as drug paraphernalia?

and where would be the best place to keep it :chin:
is it one of those times where hand luggage would be safer? or not.

if it were clean of course.
i mean if there were likely to be any issue at all, i just wouldnt bother taking it,
but it'd be nice to have with me

^ lol reminds me of when I found my dads little grow op..

i was so shocked, I had no idea what to do.. then I had a talk with him and found out that about 100% of the adults he hung out with, and like 80% of almost ALL adults smoked buds.

"Just waitll you get into highschool.. theres a reason its called that, and it aint because of the higher level of learning. from jocks and cheerleaders, to the clean cut preppy kids, to the geeks. EVERYBODY is gonna be smoking weed."

EDIT: lol, went way off topic there.. Id suggest avoiding any risk altogether and just bring a tiny pair of sharp pointed scissors. go for the ones that have the spring in them too.. thats my backup bud grinding utensil if the grinder is ever not on hand.

Actually if your bud is cured well it will come apart by hand very nicely and keep its texture. Texture is everything!!

Babba..I always break mine up by hand ;)

I used to have a fancy shmancy grinder with polished aluminum teeth and a kif screen. I realized the aluminum was wearing down very slowly and sold it off. I don't want aluminum dust in my weed! It was an expensive grinder; a Spacecase. The aluminum starting wearing down where the top and bottom met. The grinding action caused aluminum dust to form.

spacecases degrade like that?!
what a gyp.

i haven't actually bought the grinder yet, but i was looking at one of the fancy pollen catcher ones (not spacecase, but that style).
in that case, if i do get one it'll be one with a hard anodised coating like this:

i've heard of the aluminium chaffing issue with spacecase type before, but thought the little plastic rim they put on them to reduce friction wouldve sorted that, guess not.

wooden grinders = teeth fall out

space case are great grinders.... i had one for a while until the cops got it... never found 1 speck of aluminum and it looked damned near new when they took it (they even remarked on it). it has a rubber type of substance in the first bay (the actual grinding bay) that prevented any metal from touching any other metal. the grinding action NEVER resulted in metal touching metal.
EDIT: that rubber stuff i'm talking about actually made it a hell of a lot easier to grind

that space case was the BEST GRINDER I HAVE EVER OWNED and I will support those great grinders to the grave.

now the price may be a little up there... but they are worth it (i payed $80 for mine) absolutely.

maybe you owned one of the older models?
