Same conclusion I had Lazaris, but I'm dreaming of that day when I have a farm house away from neighbors.

i just leave the door open half way in the summer to help vent the GH temps and humidity....... when it rains outside the humidity is to high th0, which can create bud rot... so a small dehumidifier might be the best solution for rainy days..... i'll be lookin into buying one soon i hope. My GH floor is dirt so i can plant big ass girls in the summer.... but a concrete slab would be a good ideal to stop prolonged moisture if only using potted plants...

you can get something called a "Jempvent" for the windows which has a mechanism which reacts to the temperature or it might be the humidity, but anyway as the temp/humidity rises, a lille piston thing pushes the window open, and as it drops, it lets it close again, no power...it must work or atmopspheric pressure ore something liek that..... i was staying with a chick last year while her folks were away, and she was watering the tomatoes and everything else in the greenhouse for her dad, we thought someone was coming in and opening and closing the window and fucking with us lol....until her dad expleined the things lol

hg the piston is pushed by a piece of wax that expands when the temp gets to high and contracts when it cools down

here's a good DIY greenhouse website they have basic plans and then you can by the polycarbonate at whole-sale prices the only catch is that they have a minimum order of 900 usd....but if you have friends that are also building one yall can go in together

https://www.sundancesupply.com/Greenhouses.html

or there are a lot of sites that sell smaller orders for like an extra 10 cents/ft2. i'm hopefully going to build one next spring

thanks for that blackfin....Ive wondered how it worked and has come up with many ridiculous ideas as to how it may function so its nice to finally know the reality of it...cheers mate.

I've grown in a green house for several years. I have always tried to limit my grows to fit the weather down here.

I try and have my harvest ready before the heavy rainy season. If it does rain alot during the grow, i put fans in there to ciculate the air.. It does help with the moisture..

During the hotest part of the year, i have a heavy silver tarp that I cover the top and part of the sides with.. The silver is supposed top reflect the heat..

One thing I do to help keep the chppers from finding my grow. I plant tomato's and peppers in there. An old friend give me this suggestion. I can't swear as to if it works or not, but I haven't had any problems as of yet. The choppers fly over fairly often around my area..

Garlic City Grow do not spend money on a commercial sulfur burner. You can make one with a flexible necked desk lamp, a sixty watt bulb, and a soup can. Flex the lamp so that the bulb is facing up. Cut a soup can down so that it about 1\2 inch from the bulb. Place the can over the bulb. Place your powdered sulfur on the can. Turn on the light, and in 10-15 minutes you will see the sulfur begin to vaporize. Here is a pic.

I always say I will have a greenhouse next year, but I never get around to it. TK, I would not concrete the entire floor. Depending on the dimensions I would put three or four 3X3 holes so that you may plant in the earth and not in pots.

I have an idea about venting cool air in the greenhouse...this will work well with cooltubes as well...

Dig a trench or two....two maybe..about two feet down and around 20 feet long?..(this is just an idea I've been wanting to do..never done it..)...burry a 6 inch pvc pipe..pop it up out of the ground...dump a pile of rocks or something plants ect..on the stub up that has a mushroom cap top and screen around it to keep out bugs ...the pvc pipe comes out of the ground into the greenhouse...fans at the ends blowing cool air into ur grow..earth cooled piping....cool??...I think so..I'm going to do it to my cool tubes when i get the energy....I live on a rock if ya know what i mean..that means JACK HAMMER!!!...AHHHHH..

Aloha...

Rodriguez I found that high temps weren't as much of a problem as high humidity. The more ventilation the better.

thanks for the tip garlic :joint:

There's no way you could possibly have one of those in my area. There's so many crooked people where I live it's ridiculous.

I went on a 3 day vacation once, came home to a back door all messed up like someone was trying to pry it open. I here about this all the time, most of the time they get in though.

Let alone a gh in my backyard, it wouldnt last a month here, not with anything "illegal" anyways. You would probably be replacing the panels quite often also.

Ways to deal with ventelation are important. Like Mardoc said a raised open slat floor allows the whole floor to be a vent with an open vent at the top thermal drafts will exchange the air passivly constantly pulling fresh air in through the floor. Circulation fan's are still important. Another thing is to not over fill the greenhouse, they say only to use 1/3 of the space in a greenhouse to allow the other 2/3 for circulation.

Mardoc here's the link to the woven poly you seek ;) . http://www.northerngreenhouse.com/products/polys/wovenpolys.htm Nice to see you have started your project already :) . I have not even started yet, I'm still planning LOL 90% planning 10% doing.

Peace, SSSSpaceman SSSpliff
