I am simply amazed at the amount of purple in the stem in my P. Satellite and Green Mountain Grape! 💜

Normally I would think this was an imbalance of some sort.
Just thought I would double check with you. 😆 😉

Hi @moose/MI!
The purple coming through Purple Satellite
is purely genetic, coming from my Oaxacan Gold Purple line{first Picture} crossed with a very purple Baglung Nepali Sativa
{second picture} And the Purple satellite is the mom crossed with and Heirloom Meno purple line to make Green Mountain Grape. So there's a;lot to be purple about! HAHA

Hello @ilovegrowing!
Thank you so much!
I so appreciate your sentiment. I never set out to sell seeds, I just followed my passion of many many years seeking out the purest best strains I could to grow and supply my friends, family and myself. Just because I love beautiful cannabis so much, on a botanical and on a social level.
It was ACE seeds that saw what I was doing, through my work and postings it here.
But firstly big shout out to ACE! Who approached me and asked if I would consider making available my lines. @dubi was so gracious to include me in his and ACE more than phenomenal and certainly admirable beautiful lines of world recognized genetics loaded with some of the finest Sativa, I felt I just had to go with it. That all being said in a day where people steal each others work to call their own and strains are mislabeled and all the so many hybrids X hybrids X hybrid stuff!
I just say screw it!
Full disclosure here! The Heirloom IBL from Mendo that goes into Green Mountain Grape is a line of Purple Urkle that I have line bred for some years now. When I received this line it was described to me as a 50/50 Sativa/Indica line. So Green Mountain Grape parents are Sativa/Sativa Oaxacan X Nepali {Purple satellite} Two pure Sativa that impart a very lovely
cherry flavor and fragrance X Sativa/Indica
{My Purple Urkle IBL} which brings the cherry flavor and high notes to a totally upbeat vibe but with a bit of chill and totally green Welches grape juice fragrance.
I feel if people have a truly informed decision to make they can make the choice best for them, and we all get along great. I have kept in my estimation some of the purest high quality pure to mostly pure sativa genetics that are simply the best for the Northern outdoor grower to supply themselves with some of the most unique unadulterated strains available on the market. Again this is just my estimation. So again I so appreciate any and all input here, to help keep learning and growing.
CHEERS ALL!
And happy gardening!

Wow, thank you so much for sharing!
Im a big fan of yours and dubis lines and really appreciate your move to make them available ♥️
Is this the line bred purple urkle on the picture? Looks greenmountaingrapish with these buds with the elongated tops and still fairly thin leaves imo. Nice colours!

Damn, if someone would have told me its gmg i would have believed it. Internodial distance is also a bit longer than i would suggest to see on a indica/hybrid. The only indica treat i see is that the buds seem very hard. Maybe she is also quick in flowering.

Did you breed the line in a certain direction? If so, what were your thoughts?

I always believed the longer tips belong to your oaxaca line as i saw them in gmg and zactrib. But maybe its a more general trait.
Still learning. Ilovegrowing. :)

Here is a picture of gmg f2 purple. Didnt turn so purple this time, maybe cause of new lights, too much nitrogen, higher temps. Just went into the glass some days ago. Will try her with less nitrogen next time and a longer veg. I imagine bigger buds.

Sweet grape/berry spice, dreamy creative i would say

Hey my friend!
Actually you are very correct the main trait that carries over from the Urkle is the bud density and it was easy to take the cherry trait of Purple Satellite and bring a further enhanced Grape fragrance. Also keep in mind the Baglung Nepali also carries a very grape/berry flavor. And different lights do affect the coloration in a big way when I grow my plants are grown under Galaxyhydro lights it really brings out the most intensely purple traits in many of my strains. By the way your beautiful buds look very purple to me!
Nice work!
P.S. The very fast flowering comes from the Baglung Nepali crossed with My Oaxacan Gold coming in faster than either of their parents. And oddly enough my Urkle live comes in outdoors in Oct. But crossed to the Purple satellite comes in faster than Purple Satellite, go figure how that works. HAHA. The cool thing is you can easily run as proven up to F5 without much variation. My brother is running that one now and he loves it being a seasoned toker of over 50 years.

Thank you 🙏🏼
Loving this approach!

Am located in Germany and would love to buy some GMG fem this year.

Is that in the cards somehow?
Hello @Hasch!
First thank you for your kind words, but I have to say I am sorry I do limited supply of feminized seeds and anything I ship overseas I actually loose money on so they just don't get that far.

Hey Harley,
Glad to see you post.
Reading long threads I get confused... I seem to remember you were experiencing some health difficulties?

@vermontman and fellow gromies.
Tomorrow is 7 weeks on my full pack reproduction of Mountain Gold.
Outdoors - 42°N sungrown organic

I haven't made a seed in over 40 years!
So I'm questioning myself.

11 plants - 3 green phenos and 8 purple ones. Solos to half gallons in straight hp.
Dropped on April 15th. They all popped their heads up on 4/20. 😍
I was shy fimming them on may 19th.
None took.

Currently with my plant count I'm thinking I must choose either green or purple.
But I might sneak a female of ea.
We'll see. 🧐

3 green phenos. The first plant to show male is green.
I'm looking for advice.
Is the fact that it's first to show male put it in the running? Would earlier tendencies transfer to the female?
How does it look structurally?

Whether to go green to green, green to purple, ect.?
Green to purple seems like the choice and then I could do further selection.
But I would like to hear from others.

If this one is a strong maybe, can I mark it, top it and set it aside to hold it back a little bit?
The sooner I can weed these 11 down to 3-4 choices the better.

Thanks

Hello @moose/MI!
I would collect pollen from your first boy in a room set at 42% humidity allow pollen to dry on a clean surface like a serving tray for 12 to 24 hours, no longer.
Once dry put into 5 mil glass vial with a good screw cap, label vial with sharpie marker. Then put that vial into a pint or quart canning jar with rice in the bottom deep enough to hold up the vile/viles repeat with other males. I put the jar into a ziplock bag for extra protection, before I put into freezer.
Pollen in freezer can last at least a couple years.
Just take out pollen you intend to use. Allow it to come to room temp before opening. then I would pollinate just one bud off each female plant, tagging each bud with a colored ziptie. using a qutip or small artist brush to carry pollen onto desired bud. Make sure that bud gets enpough light to form good seed, most important under artificial lights.
When you harvest your can see which truly is your best female for flavor, fragrance, potency, color etc. then select favorite seeds for next run. The earlier male may be a good indicator of earlier flowering but the females dictate most of the genetic disposition.
Hope that helps!

High Moose.

I'm getting over the Covid-24.. I think I'm going to be one of those long haulers: I have no energy and get winded easily.. Plus, in 2 weeks I'm getting a stent installed and they are going to take a closer look at the aortic valve. The first hospital wanted to do open heart but I went to one of the best hospitals in the world for cardiac care and theyre being a little more conservative. Thanks for the concern :)

Morning buddy. What i meant is a lot of folks had hermie issues and i had none at all. A very pleasant smoke and the smell was fantastic, reminded me of banana bread. If you plan on running her youre in for a treat
Cool thank you! My 12 seeds just popped. Considering that the strain is discontinued makes it an even more exciting selection.

Good morning Vermont Man! Reading this thread has me wanting to dig through my freezer and find my Pineapple Banana bud seeds! How would you rate the potency of that hybrid in comparison to what you offer now, and why did that cultivar get discontinued? Thanx!

Hello @Prs2xs!
I stopped Pineapple Banana bud for a few reasons. Mostly because it would not finish up north outdoors, second all my other offerings have my signature Oaxacan Gold in the parentage not the Pineapple Banana bud. Also I began to run into herm issues with the Mulanje Gold line I used to make in P.B.B. and I did not to risk offering something that could herm. Maybe someone else could chime in on potency on my other strains but I feel they are all pretty equally potent.
That all being said Mulanje is a very unique cannabis most certainly a one in a kind cannabis that can run be a bit more potent than my all my strains so I still run her as a clone, that is stable indoors or outside in a subtropical climate outdoors where herming seems less prominent.
Hope that helps!
