Howdy howdy! :D

I've been so busy this winter that growing has been on the back burner...however, I've been going through some older jars and find myself jonesing for something from VM... So I just dropped two Mountain Gold seeds. Also 4 old Ace Guatemala seeds. So, hopefully they pop in the next few days and we'll see what I get.

In the meantime, I'm all in Alpine Strawberries this year, hehe...three of those cuttings made it through the winter VM. So that's great...but as an insurance policy I went ahead and started some seeds. I had a few packs that I never got around to starting and then picked up a few others. I ended up with about 60 plants from both red and white/yellow varieties! I already stuck a few out in the cold frame last weekend and they are doing fine. Early spring here it looks like, so I'm getting a nice head start. :)

My flower room last week. I'm still running that same Cryptic Labs Oaxacan cut this winter but had a hankering for something different. I just cut down my last Oaxacan 79 x Panama and also an Oaxacan 79 x Malawi that a kind member here gave me some seeds last year. In fact that is the Malawi cross in this pic but which has now been chopped.

Wow I didn't expected anything but your answer makes me the happiest hehe :) . Such an honor for me, thank you so much. With dreamy pictures, icing on the cake!

Zacateca, I would love it... But I don't think it would thrive with such low intensity light in my area, unfortunately. If someday I've the opportunity to do an indoor run, I'll do it for sure. After trying old Zamal and Lao bud, which were treasuring memories, I can't wait to try a pure mexican because after searching a lot for what "landraces" are responsibles in hybridized strains for those unmanageable laugh bursts that we all love when enjoying herb, I almost all the time noticed that Mexican was in the lineage. So is the lemony/orangey taste. Which you can also find in Lao/thai herb.

The zamal I tried was also crazy euphoric and I ended lying on the ground because laughing so much and couldn't stop, but the bud structure, scent and taste was different. Very herbal (like when you mow the lawn), a bit peppery, and also a discrete smell of copper too. BTW it was very similar in structure and smell to Kerala region ganja, in south India...

Sorry for the digress... I can't help doing that when it's about something I love.

Well I'll go for GMG because you described as a bit more "upbeat and sense of well being" than PS on ACE website, and because you say per experience that she's as adapted to "not welcoming climates" as PS, then the "warmer/kinder" effect is the only reason choosing it over PS because I'm sure both are amazing.

Thanks again for everything Sir!
I'll try to remind to post a report if I can run my project to its end :)

Take care, all best

Zobi

Awesome my great friend!
So good to see you here! Look at you go! like you are ready to farm. And you know Strawberries are very closely related to cannabis. So looking forward to again seeing you and yours.
Hugs brother!

I'm determined to get some fruits this year despite the deer, birds, squirrels and slugs, hehe...I figure with enough plants I'm bound to get something. :)

I couldn't find my jar of Fed Hawaiian that I chopped a month ago. I am mystified...maybe I mislabeled amid all the Oaxacan cuts that I grew lately. Anyhow, here are some nice Grape flowers from last May. They still smell a little grapey and are well cured.

Hey Tex!
Those look like grapey frosty goodness. Are those from the feminized seed?

Oh right, yes, the fems! :)

Btw, that Fed Hawaiian had the same look as the ones I saw you growing. Buds had a sort of pinkish hue to them, hard to describe but almost a pastel color. I can really see the influence in the Mountain Gold. Also, the one female was very compact and well behaved but clearly a sativa in habit and leaf size. I did have three males which I brought upstairs but after a month I gave up on them as the pollen sacs refused to open.

The Mountain Gold's are now 3 weeks old - 2 are smelling like Big League Chew Bubble Gum and the third is 'tropical' but can't put my finger on it... looks like the stretch is slowing down.

Here's one of the Zacatecas's Tribute... such a beautiful plant and the picture doesn't do it justice.

And finally, a little carnivorous garden with an herbivore for irony, lol

Hey bud!
Yes sometimes boys can be stubborn with putting out their pollen I had that happen last summer with some males I wanted to knock up Purple Satellite to make more Green Mountain Grape seed. I had three boys only one was not dry, but pollen only flowed well into flower, so that was a chore! And as for you assessment and very perceptive view, great call on the Hawaiian Sativa. If you need or desire more beans let me know.
Hugs my good friend!

Hey @jroadytoady!
Man I cannot get over your progress, time is flying by way to fast!!! That being said your Mountain gold looks like a major stacker! It seems like ACE has taking my Mountain Gold line and feminizing her! I think that is terrific! I have the utmost respect for @dubi and really appreciate how much he has helped Green Mountain Seeds. I wish him only the best for his kindness and support!
PS Love the Dino, coool!
And thank you all for support and your posts!

That's great to hear about Ace and @dubi feminizing MG - been seeing quite a few people talking about Mountain Gold here, especially in the NY threads.

Mulanje OMG! - That's definitely on my bucket list

Nice little group of carnivores there. Make sure to pick off the cape sundews flowers or that's all you'll have eventually, everywhere 😉.
The MG and ZTribute look great btw.

Fun! Since you already have lights going it makes sense to take advantage of the space for some other plants. I always wanted to try the venus fly traps...actually might help with my fungus gnat outbreaks, hehe...this winter I got into an African violet kick, partly for myself and partly as a gift for the wife. She got the nice ones for the kitchen window and I am keeping a secret stash of a few that suffered a little in the cold weather shipping and have some brown spots...I want to see if I can nurse them along indoors and am getting attached to them. So cute! The Violet Barn in upstate NY has some dazzling varieties and are worth checking out.

Thanks @drosera420 - I just put a little tray underneath to collect the seeds to try to grow some more, good thing I saved the tiny pots they came in.

@TexasTea I prolly should put these in the tent but instead have them out on the kitchen counter... everybody seems to get a kick out of them. They have hanging baskets with large pitcher plants that would be perfect to hang at the top of a tent... (thanks for the idea!) - good luck with the African Violets. My latest 'kick' has been Japanese Maples which can get expensive quick!

Also, re: fungus gnats - Have you tried mosquito dunks and neem meal?

Hi @vermontman i'm not feminizing or breeding with any of your lines, don't know where does this come from.

Have a great weekend!
