and if you ask me they are not that same not even close they have two different leaf structures

and branch structure and the terpene profile is different only thing that is close is the size of the plants they both grow slow and short

GA is a great strain. Don't know why people say it's a poor yielder. What do you expect of an IBL? People compare IBL's to F1 hybrids. Anyone working with certain crops that show heterosis know that with each generation there is inbreeding depression.

GA is also not Erkle. They are close, but GA has more candy sweetness. My personal experience of Erkle is it is slight more dark or wet earth in flavor.

Not sure if their genes are distinct enough that a GA x Erkle would show hybrid vigor.

GDP, as was mentioned in the first posts is a cross with bigbud, however I believe it is a recessive bigbud found in 25% of Sensi's Bigbud that is extra large yield. It can be found way up north sometimes called Salmon Bud or Salmon Creek Big Bud. Almost always available for decades because it is the easy big-yielding tasty crop.

GDP is granddaddy purple which is a cross of purple urkle and big bud.

grape ape was also called grandaddy grape ape. apothecary seeds....the origin of the genetics are Paki and Skunk #1. Purple from Paki and density from the Skunk#1. Originated, we believe in Northern Cali 3-4 decades ago. Also known as Granddaddy, Granddaddy grape ape, purple erkle, all different phenotypes.

grape ape = big bud x urkle its a sister of GDP. That would make Urkle the momma and then her make up would be the Paki X Skunk#1.

is Grape Ape really the Sister of Urkle or the Sister of GDP?

That assumes different people didn't call different things grape ape which is never the case. With any popular name, there will be name jacking and the result is that there is no such thing as authentic or inauthentic most of the time, just different people at different times calling similar or related things by the same name.

All the GA I came across did not seem to have bigbud in it, which suggests GA and Erkle are siblings but not GA and GDP. GA was around long before I remember the original gross domestic product came out. Then Ken Estes put his stamp on his GDP changing purple to purp, and adding 'Kens', but Grandaddy is like Who's Your Daddy. It's common street slang for high quality or superior. The term Purp was used before GDP.

IDK BUT I KNOW ITS A PURPLE KUSH CROSS
HAD SOME NOT LONG AGO, ''VERY DENSE' HARD KUSH NUGS . THIS PHENO DID NOT HAVE ANY PURPLE COLOR ON IT BUT IT HAD A STRONG DISTINCT 'PURPLE SWEET SMELL' AND THAT TRADEMARK ' PURPLE MEDICINE FRUITY TASTE'.... VERY POTENT
