Grafting flowered branches

I read an article where some researchers grafted flowering branches to plants still in veg cycle. This caused some sort of hormone transfer to the host causing it to flower even though the light cycle had not been changed.
I was wondering if anyone might have more info on this. The plants they used was not marijuana, but were a short day plant. JK

that is something that may just work!!

but.. whilst its an interesting thing to do, what benefit do you think it would have ?

All I know is it would be cool to see.

Would they have to be from the same line, like from clone because of genetics...or could you graft some that special comination package?...

Either way I'll watch the thread... keep it easy ~caddy

If you grew outdoors you could have flowering plants in early june and cured buds before the ducks head south.

It will not work with Cannabis. You can cover a single branch and it will flower and the rest of the plant will not. Also it is very hard to graft a flowering branch.

It can be done, but I don't think it would benefit you in any way.
I have a couple of clones I took while the plant was in flower, the cuttings that I took had not started to flower but as they grew they showed female preflowers, even under 24 hours of light they never went completely back into veg, I have since taken clones from these cuttings and it is the same as they grow they have female preflowers. Doing this hasn't shown any benefits since the preflowers seem to die after awhile. I will post some pics of what I'm talking about later today.

lol, i like how u said that. i had alot of cured buds before the ducks flew south this outdoor season.

i harvested some dutch treats in the first week of july.

if you run your clones or seed under 24 hours of light indoors and put them out close to the summer equinox they will start budding almost immediatly and keep budding. i'm not sure about sats, but indica and indica doms forsure.

You bring up an interesting point, do to the time of year I was unable to move any of these ladies outside who knew we would be having 60+ degrees days in December, if I still have these ladies come summer I will have to try this. They might wined up being some very heavy producing ladies.

Sam, the plant they used was Arabidopis, they also did the same for a plant that needed vernalization and it budded early summer. I read this at the ucsd lib in a book by taiz.I have ordered the book and should be here soon. As my notetaking has not improved in 30 years, I will wait and post the article. JK
