The psychiatric and Big-Pharma groups have begun to diagnose people who believe in the 2nd amendment as 'sick' and 'treatable'....

Just another control mechanism to strip fundamental human rights away.

i was watching predator two the other day and saw a scene that well represents the gun freedom supporters idea of why guns should be allowed. in the scene a group of thugs on a crowded train are intimidating people, then decide to rob a business man keeping to himself. the business man pulls out a little revolver to defend himself and the thugs laugh and pull automatic weapons. its then that all the other citizens on the train, about 25, pull their guns on the thugs and theyre forced to surrender. this is the reason you cant ban guns. if guns are banned guess what? wont keep guns out. itll just make it so only criminals have access to guns. did banning drugs work at all? nope. so why would banning guns be any different?

Cannabis users for Prohibition. Nothing wrong with being hypocritical, or is there?

I suspect this is what those FEMA camps are for. I do know for a fact that they are real but the FEMA employees do not know their uses yet...but I will likely know the facts before you do....

people are murdered for their air jordan's. do ya think they would have busted his skull open with a bat if he resisted? they wouldn't wanna ruin the kicks with blood. they took an easy way out and shot him. treyvon martin would (presumably) still be alive had zimmerman been carrying a bat instead of a pistol.

I do feel an individual has a right to defend himself, but again, if an assailant was carrying a golf club, would you really be as worried as if he had a tech-9?

Problem is that if Zimmer was carrying a bat, he would have had to swing on Mart earlier or Mart could have taken the bat and used it against him. With a gun, you have the option of taking a few hits hoping the bastard would stop when you didn't strike back and if he/she/it didn't, you would know you still have control to stop them in their fucking tracks. You also have the option of taking out an arm or leg and running off instead of taking a core shot or head shot. A bat might kill them with the first strike or not stop them at all....of course if you are a murder minded mutherfucker then both weapons are deadly and the stupid attacker is gonna die anyway... the tool make little difference....if the person holding the weapon is a tool themself...

i was wondering where this thread went, i guess it was moved here to avoid the input of non-americans - so i'll respect that.

thanks for the discussion guys, i still dont get why you're all so mad keen on everyone having guns, but i understand that it's what most of you believe - so i hope it continues to work out for ya ;)

We would all be totally screwed without the NRA, please everyone join. Without the NRA, we would have a "war on guns" in a heartbeat

The NRA isn't nearly as 'effective' or for your rights as they should be. Not saying you shouldn't join, just saying it's not all people make it out to be.

yeah from my reading there are better proponents of the second around today then the nra. they have gotten too politically correct over the years.

It's numbers that make a difference people.

The NRA has over 4 million members. There very well could be "better" proponents but there are none even close in strength.

It's easy to find faults in anything, it's the big picture that counts.

If there's one thing that might awaken our anesthetized populace, it would be to try and take away our RIGHT to bear arms. I don't believe revolution is possible today in the face of our all powerful federal government, unless they tried something really stupid like taking people's guns away. That would be a problem for many, and for good reason. And I am not a gun owner. (Not by choice, though).

like to hear from more of our friends in Europe and Australia about this.

Hello Germany calling ,
I can understand the fascination for guns and I don´t know for sure, what I would think if I am an american. If I ever come to the states, I want to go on a shooting range and fire some rounds for money.
In my whole life I had a gun in the hand for 2 minutes.
One fact is, in a household with a gun is a bigger risk for suicide with a gun.
In Europe, the UK has the strongest laws and the most hard punishments for owning a gun.
In Germany most of the people got killed by guns too. In Germany you can have a legal gun if you got a Waffenschein (gun license), most of the germans that got a gun are in "Schuetzenverein" (shooting association).
Just before 3 days, 40 miles away a contract killer (20 years) shot another guy to dead in a parking garage.
Another point is the psychological angle, guys with a low self esteem loves a gun more than a guy with a healthy self esteem.

For the rest of the world it looks a little bit strange, seeing all the movies from the USA, weapons are a big part of the american movies. You see more guns than cigarettes or naked women.
Sorry but at last my english is to bad to say exactly what I mean.

If I had a free wish for a gun, over my chimney would hang a Sturmgewehr 44.

Please allow me to point out that government tricking you into living in fear is lame... and a few other things if I may

.... you can kill yourself a lot of ways, a gun is one

.... a guy got shot to death. Some people get stabbed to death or other stuff'd to death. Prison would be a good example where there are no guns at all.

..... not buying your self esteem argument at all

.... movies are made in america, you guys watch them as much as we do. Cigarettes are gross.

Your english is at least as good as mine and this is the only language this lazy american knows :)

I hope you guys get to have guns over there someday, you Germans make some of the finest arms available here in the US and I hope you get your Sturmgewehr 44

"Just before 3 days, 40 miles away a contract killer (20 years) shot another guy to dead in a parking garage."

Maybe it would have been more to your liking if he had bludgeoned him to death with a bat? People will find a way to kill people either with or without a gun.

"Another point is the psychological angle, guys with a low self esteem loves a gun more than a guy with a healthy self esteem"

That's a rather broad generalization and utter bullshit.
