Got a problem with my little plant

Hi everyone,
I got a problem with my little plant, I'm a neophyte and I've just started with my first seed growing indoor. I germinated the seed and interred it about 15 days ago, then after a couple of days I started with the lightening. It sprouted growing fast and it gave out the first little leaf, and started giving out the second. I couldn't lighten it 24/7 hours because of several reasons, so I've been lightening it irregularly with a 125W TFL lamp (with a reflector to power the lightening) for about 10 hours/day, sometimes more sometimes less, sometimes keeping the light on during the day, sometimes during the night. About the watering, I've been watering it keeping the soil always dump. Now, it's a couple of day that the growing of the little plant seems stuck on the half of the second little leaf (don't know if it's just an impression, but seen the fast growing till the completion of the first leaf, that's what it seems to me), and besides when I woke up this morning after a lightening night the plant was crooked, so I'm keeping it straightened with a little string gently tied to the sprig. I don't know why all this happened and I'd like if someone with more knowledge of me about that could explain me.
Thanks:tiphat:

Hey there! I am also a newbie. Pictures always help diagnose problems but its sounds like you're fine. Your rapid growth is stretching. If you move the plant closer to the light it will lower the stretch some until your baby can hold herself up. Now that you have some foliage growing its natural for the growth to slow a little.

You should really try to bump up the amount of light your plant gets a day. I say this because your current light schedule is going to cause your baby to flower much earlier than you really want. Also the light is what helps your plant bulk up on leaves. My first girl I ever had was getting 12/12 light from seed. I didn't get much bud off her at all, only 2 grams. Getting a light timer will really help but I would suggest an absolute minimum of 14 hours of light a day to keep your plant vegging. After about 4 weeks switch the timer to 12/12 and watch nature work. For now being patient and observant is all you can do.

Thanks NoSocSlic for the answer. Still stuck in his growth after another night of lightening, it's just a sprout with a leaf and a half, anything more.. Probably the reason of all that is the extremely irregular lightening I've been giving the plant, something went wrong and it could be sort of gone insane.. The weird crooked position I found the sprout yesterday morning, the stuck growt.. I think I'm gonna dry up the only leaf and try to smoke it (any chance it has a slightest effect? :) Then buy a light timer and try a new growth

Your first grow is often a little rough. I suggest you hang in there and let it grow. You won’t get any satisfaction from smoking that one leaf. Experiment a bit, you’ve got nothing to lose. If the plant is long and stretching bring the light closer. Try and keep that light on for 18 hours or more till it gets some good growth. Start more seed, get a timer, learn by doing! Good luck.

Don't give up on it yet, its called weed for a reason and it'll take a beating. Like everyone else said light is the key, try for at least 14 hours because that will keep you out of flowering... should shoot for at least 18 though. That being said, if you leave it on 24/7 you don't need to worry about buying a timer.

I wouldn't scrap it.... I would pick up the timer and start a light schedule and call that plant practice. you might as well. The timer really is a must have item. Cannabis likes consistency.

With the plant I have now I only had the timer set to 14 hours light 10 hours dark. This was because of an article I read about creating the right conditions for more females. Including longer dark periods, using blue spectrums of light, and increasing nitrogen during veg. I used a high nitrogen organic tea once at the beginning of veg. Veg was about 3 1/2 weeks and I honestly didn't notice a big size difference with the shorter light. I think she looks great. She just started flowering today! Excited for 8 weeks from now!!!
