Got a farm in the basement

Ok so I've been at this for about 1.5 months now.

The two in the middle are just Regg bagseed. On the outside and in one dixie cup out of view are supposedly Trainwreck. The lights are 2x SS Glowpanel 45's (save your money, folks) and 4x 26w cfl's. The soil is 1 part each ocean forest, light warrior, happy frog, and perlite, with some dolomite lime. Been growing in the basement with min/max temps at 70/80 respectively. RH is averaging 65%; I've heard this is bad, but does it warrant a change of location? The only othe feasible area in the house is the south-facing dining room, which climbs to around 85-90f in the day.

Notice the lightened edges on the leaves? I'm thinking light bleaching...

This is the big regg; droopy leaves mean too much water I think, so I've let them dry for 4 days and fed them today.

well your humidity isn't too bad for veg , but you should buy a dehumidifier for flowering

Thanks for the reply Rasta! Ive had them on 12/12 for 7+ days now, trying to sex them, but flowering won't come for a while yet. I'll definitely need some more light then, I think lol

They look a bit overwatered. When growing from seed you should never go 12/12 until the plant shows you what sex it is already. Your plants haven't hit puberty and you've got them thinking they'll be porn stars.

Bagseed will have a tendency to herm on you and could seed over your entire crop.

So on the lighting, I should switch back to 18/6 until I can identify preflowers? I haven't noticed any flowers/preflowers in the past 2.5 weeks since the change over.

I've also been increasingly infrequent with their water as I have noticed what I believe are fungus gnats flying around my plants. I cut some potatoes to confirm but my brother had tossed them while I was at work, not realizing what I was doing. What are yalls personal recommendations for fighting these things?

By the way rckymtn, they've been looking much healthier with drier soil (4, then 5 days between the last waterings) even with these wee winged beasties. I'm gonna take some more pics of the farm tonight as I've rearranged a little, i.e., not so ghetto!

Did you get any stretch out of them?? I am not as anal about killing fungus gnats as most people here...yellow stickies is about all I ever use to kill them. As far as switching back to 18-6, probably as bad of an idea as flipping them to begin with.

If it were me, and since they've already been stressed with the flip, and the fact that they're bagseed...I would just kill them and take what I've learned for the next batch.

Clone the plant that isn't bagseed??? Start good seeds??? Any clones taken will take longer to root because they are now in flower.

You plants look fine. A bit overwater. I would wait till soil dries more till you water again. You can lift the pot and see if its heavy or not.

You should be fine going with 12/12 from seed. They will still take about a month to show sex. They won't get as big, but I guess thats what you want since you are using CFL's. You want the plants as close as the lights as you can.

You can also bend them and tie them down in order to get better light penetration on the canopy and therefore better yields.

i started just like you a basement and your fine just get a 50 or 70 pint dehuy and you'll be good. oh shit sorry your not using as much light as i did starting out 4 1000 watt hps for flowering so maybe a smaller ehui like a 25 pint will work. Do your self a favor and order some genetics from seed bay or attitude or some where. Trust me i did the same thing and i dnt care how good a grower you are if you start out with junk seeds you will have really good grown junk weed. Learn from my mistake and dnt waste the time and money to grow them out seeds are the easiest thing to get shipped get them sent to your moms or like me your girls moms lol .Remember genetics account for at last 80% of your grow imop its a lesson i learned the hard way oh and i would deff give coco a try it is the easiest medium to grow in imop and once you use it you will never look back the only reason i know is because like you i only started growing about 2 years ago and you want to give your self the best opportunity to succeed any way if you have any questions just get at me i'll do my best to help stay frosty bro peace. oh and check out a nutrient called vegg+bloom its a one part powder nutrient that does it all and its awesome if you got to their web site they will give you a 150 gram sample the company is called hydroponic research hop this helps stay frosty bro late!

a lot of people flip from seed to promote less growth and whatnot,,,giving shitty advice is a rookie mistake,,,u can flip plants whenever u want,,,a lot of times thats how u tell the sex when they refuse to show as fast as everything else,, u flip the plant and discard the males,,,why do people give poor advice with no reasoning behind it,,,
one of the top strains ever was found in bagseed,, ever hear of chem? and the hundreds of crosses that bagseed has created,,

The first sticky in this forum is about how to sex from pre-flowers. Yes, I have flipped plants before they have reached maturity. I take clones from these plants and then I kill them after I determine their sex. The reason behind not flipping a plant before it has preflowers are many. First off, your yield will suffer, quality will also take a major hit, and the last reason is that it saves no time at all.
Yes, I've heard of ChemDawg and his genetics are in like 90% of the herb that tests over 20% THC. Quite the legendary Dead Show bag of weed he acquired. Nothing lucky about it, right? Most bagseed won't end up seeding over your entire crop, if and only if, you have the skills and the eye for culling plants that show bananas. I'm guessing El Jefe doesn't have this skill yet, and it could cost him his entire crop. On your last point, I've been a member on here since 2007 and a member on OG long before that site was shut down by the Canadians. I have so few posts because I got 86'd for calling people out on the Organic Soil Forum that think it's cool to post up non-organic solutions to simple problems.

Thanks for the knowledge Rancho. Killing these babies isn't a viable option for me, but I do plan to clone each plant, keeping the best smoking plants. They still look healthy, but the flowering process does seem a slow ordeal (even for plants!).

How stressing is it for the plants to have clones taken in flower? It will probably be another few days before I task myself with it.

if u look at the guys setup u will see he obviously doesnt have the room to let them show on thier own,,so ur advice was just acting like a know it all,,obviously he is a rookie thats why he is posting asking these questions,,and using cfls and having such small polants do u think he thought he was gonna kill it with yield,,,,

u can take cuts a day before harvest but she will take forever to revert and normally once they actually start to flower they root relatively fast but take a while to go back to normal u will get a bit of wierd leaf variation possibly but be patient and it will revert,,,
