Mile high, theres no doubt it can do 1.5-2. Folks have been getting that pretty regularly from what I've heard.
Your are right about it being a bit stretchy though.
I agree with crooked8 that gg4 would prolly yield best if weaved through a scrog. Not that I wanna bring that shit up again.
I think the advice most of those folks will give thhough is run it in a scrog.
SirSmokeAlot has had success keeping the nodes tight in coco. Filter for his post for more details on that.

Also, Id love to know what your buddies are running that they are pitching the gg4 after 2 weeks. Must be pretty good :)

I wanted to address this sooner but I haven't had an account for a while (been here since overgrow). This is a very large thread so it may already have been discussed but I didn't come across that discussion during my reading. The GG#4 I have going is VERY branchy/lanky/etc. and it's looking very questionable that the yield will be too impressive.

On that same note, I take responsibility for that happening until I've run it a few times and can confirm that this is an aspect of the genetics I'm not able to overcome. I've had some trouble adjusting to how she grows. That being said, I can't think of anything that I've ever grown that was frostier. It's pretty unreal next to some average genetics.

I'd be curious to know if anyone else that's grown her has had any trouble adjusting in veg (think trees, not sog)? She's been thin, stretchy/lanky and only wants to grow outwards. All my other genetics, when properly topped/tied, fill in evenly and I don't really need to weave them through a trellis (though there is some tucking) because the canopy is already pretty flat.

The trellis is mostly in place for support. Although I'll admit that's only in ideal situations. I've spent plenty of time weaving and laying down a big out-of-control bush. Shit happens and I'm far from perfect. But right now, I'm really not seeing 1.5-2# per light being realistic. But I also can't wait to find out for sure myself because 2#/1k of this shit would make my head spin.

Also, a BIG thanks to everyone who's been generous enough to share. It's pretty amusing actually because people around here don't even want this cut! I only have one buddy who's saying "hell yeah"... everyone else wants nothing to do with it. They're comfortable growing what they grow and I think the GG#4 just looks like a bitch to grow to them. The one guy that took a cut threw it out after two weeks!!! Although everyone agrees that it's incredibly frosty no one seems to have any interest.
I don't know how you guys are trying to grow her but unc has laid out the perfect way, go back and read or skim through the thread, everyone that has grown her from phillthy to resin rider have been surprised by the yields, resin rider just posted a few pages back about his 4 plants that he thought looked like 8oz yield but when weighed was over a lb. phillthy grew single plants without the screen and got better yields off her than any plant he has ever grown and god he has grown a bunch. I have found that she grows better for me super cropping than topping, the question about bud structure seems silly, all the pic's that have been posted clearly show some really nice buds, if you are even a half fair grower you get nice buds, I am posting a couple pic's that I have posted here many times, they both show some dense hard buds, what else do you want ?

Oh, it's not that I don't believe anyone. I was just worried that I might not have the same cut as you all do. Something that spreads fast can also lead to plenty of fake/mistaken/confused cuts.

I'm definitely going to be seeing what Coco can do. I'm very open minded and willing to try just about anything given the opportunity. Hopefully that will be a good experience. Either way, next GG#4 in dirt will be woven with no mercy. Hundreds of little nuggets is definitely going to be the ticket here. I'm looking forward to putting in some effort.

The stuff some of the people I know run is great. I don't want to go into detail because that's their private business. The quality is definitely there for just about anyone but the pickiest consumer. I think we can all agree that the GG#4 is elite and not it's not very fair to compare to the average high-end that's floating around. If it's more work but worth the same it's not for every grower.

I most definitely will wait patiently for her to finish and look forward to a pleasant surprise. I've under-estimated many, many harvests; it's in my nature. It's easy to forget how many branches there are when you're looking at how small the buds are with this particular strain. Biggest ones I'm seeing look around 5-8g depending on density. It was just the other day I was staring at some 1-2 oz. colas. But, of course, the quality was significantly lacking; a continuous curse.

I'll go back and do some more reading. A lot of these bud shots look a lot bigger than what she's doing for me. So, I was just curious if I was the only one having trouble. The buds are definitely very nice, just not measuring up to the pictures. It's only ONE plant though, so it may have just been a weak plant with a rough start. I'm definitely not ditching her anytime soon.

I agree that the super-cropping is very easy with this one. In fact, she allows you to bend her in some crazy ways. This allows some creative training. I have one in veg that's turning into the average, well-balanced bush. Then there's one that just keeps pushing outwards and then there's one that stretched out so far that I folded her in some interesting ways. We'll see what happens there.

Also, sorry for any spelling/grammatical errors in my posts. It's not letting me correct them, possibly due to my low post count or some sort of glitch. I'm also not able to give any rep but thank you for your replies and the pictures.

One of the easest plants I have grown. She never gives me any issues. You wont notice anything until the last 3 weeks. She will start to reak and get super frosty with some nice dense buds.

I dont think the GG x Q is a good match. The plants look great but the super long Petiole I dont like it. So I will be doing a few others.....

All of these will get crossed to GG#4
Bio Chem, Bio Diesel, Stardawg...

Pf maybe anonymous will be a worthy mom as well. Only time will tell. Gg x stardawg sounds tight for sure. What about the long petiole is unattractive?

I wanna sweat with those flowers...I bet smoking some would accomplish that feat. Great job, PF! :respect:

Krustallos - wonder how you got 'em so speared out - I agree with Joesy - your enviro brings out a different expression in the nugs. Looking proper regardless..
